This makes no sense to me. Did they provide a reason for choosing Discord of all things? What was wrong with making announcements on Lemmy? Why wouldn’t they choose to make announcements in another federated format in addition and not instead of lemmy? Like, I’m not super tech savvy but I’m sure they could set up an RSS-like feed to send out alerts? IDK
I wish people would realize that humans only got to where we are because we are a COMMUNAL species. We developed complex language and tool usage BECAUSE we work together. Being “off the grid” is usually isolationist and therefore extremely dangerous. We need community in order to develop and manage the resources we need to survive.
I think these meme is making fun at his some people see Zuck, not actually implying that he is cool

I agree. There should be a turn back to the robe-like garments that are used by everyone in certain cultures. It’s comfy and it looks regal as fuck. And with the heat waves we’ve been getting we are gonna have to adapt to our environment where we can
my dogs on prescription food. it hurts to buy
I was excited to see this article written on the verge but then I read it. Seems like they are only interested in what the fediverse can do now that Threads is getting in and sticking their foot in the door. It’s likely they needed Meta as a corporation to validate federation as something with real potential. We need to be highly critical about the entities who just see this as another way to make money off our data
