I feel like most people here use ublock origin already so should just use that JS blocking in that instead of adding on noscript.

I see absolutely zero “praising” of any kind but great job making a strawman and then attacking it.

Almost like people should’ve been doing this to begin with. Almost like they should be doing it now.
I do love the down votes for stating it though (not you.) People always seem to dislike that progressive ideas apparently are not a silver bullet and resent the idea that they might not be as popular as they think.
Maybe if people did the simple things we could avoid having to have a full on revolution. Just a thought. Maybe simple actions should be priority number one alongside protests, etc.
And I fail to see how the Almighty DNC could stop thousands of progressive candidates across the country, especially when the turnout, again, is so low.
Maga zealots and hard right nut jobs put in the simple work to take over the Republican party but it always seems amazingly hard to imagine progressives doing that with the Democrats even though mamdani did exactly that by getting just a bit more turnout in the primary.

Well I mean, 20-30% turnout in primaries each year. Who is saying you can’t get further left people in?
If progressive ideas and politicians are actually that popular it shouldn’t be hard to take the Democratic party over.

The weaker response was no one giving them actual power in November.
But hey, angry online posting is probably equivalent to their letter so…

Same. If I ever had to reinstall that makes it even easier anyhow.

I also think- how often am I borking or reinstalling my desktop?
It’s a good idea but I’ve been running the same system for years and years. All that effort goes kind of unused. I replicated most of what I’d need in a single ansible playbook over the years that didn’t take long. In the rare event I need to reinstall at all.

I mean… I take issue with the tax code being that personally. Idgaf if your company loses money or not- you pay taxes. It’s not the problem of society to make sure your company can write off a bad year. If you fail, you fail. American taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for failing businesses or creative businesses.

Easier to destroy things overall. That and the American people gave all the power to Republicans knowing they’d be complicit every step of the way. Not really working out.

I don’t know how you do that. I can’t edit the standard DDG on desktop at all. Didn’t see anything at first glance in about:config either.
Easier to me to just add a new engine.

Eh, depends. The price for something like VMware horizon was already damn expensive and that’s before you got to citrix prices (and this is pre broadcom takeover.)
For some places the costs are able to be recouped but it really depends. You still need plenty of scale to have that be viable IME.
My main point being there are a millions of small businesses and medium size ones that are still always going to be far better off with normal physical hardware.

Yes and this isn’t news.
Why are we posting every dumb thought maga has?

Didn’t watch either but honestly most people don’t care enough to stomach even a little pain.

Behind the ps4 in outright numbers given the same period of sales time.
Surprised they’ve done that well though. It’s good but the ps4 still holds its own IMO.

Yeah, this is a bubble. I don’t blame op for not liking that but the average consumer isn’t even aware and wouldn’t care anyway. Look at all the other shit the average consumer tolerates.
I agree also- just too expensive and no real improvements. I know two people with one. The one games a lot and he enjoys it but I don’t know how often he plays it anymore compared to steam. The other family plays it but are starved for games.
Nice if you have the pocket change but fundamentally just a lot of money for a slightly upgraded switch with few dedicated games. Jmho.

Really good network stack. Linux is catching up surely but places like Netflix run a ton of stuff on BSD simply for that stack. AFAIK ebpf is supposedly the thing that will have Linux compete in this space- https://dev.to/dpuig/understanding-ebpf-a-game-changer-for-linux-kernel-extensions-4m7i
For a normal person? I’d argue there’s about zero benefit to running BSD over some Linux distro. Less people use jails compared to containers, networking doesn’t matter like you said, and hardware support is far more awful in terms of drivers. There’s a reason there’s like 2-3 desktop oriented distros on BSD compared to hundreds on Linux.

Sources are only good if theyre not anecdotal. I wonder if op has those.

I’ve only used it with ventoy. Didn’t know if you could plop it in the root of a normal flash drive that has the windows installer or not.
Not really hard with ventoy either but I don’t like to assume what’s easy for me is easy for someone else.

This works very well if youre technically inclined. I have to set up windows sometimes for people and this lets me simply select the drive then it goes. No one drive, local accounts, no bloatware, etc. Super nice.
People got way too comfortable and let the idiots take over.
