You’re right, but fuck are they stupid. Blues Brothers is about two poor white boys raised in black culture, and is a celebration of said culture. The bad guys are cops, Nazis, and racist bumpkins.
Those people have proven themselves to not be worthy of a relationship. Those people should be shunned for being inhumane monsters, not welcomed back into society. They will not change. They hate me and the people I love. I, and I assume many others like me, will never forgive, and never forget. And they will not stop. Even if we win the election, we will not have beaten them. This will only escalate until we beat them back and crush their ideology.
The gentle thrum of a Federation starship’s warp core.
My work setup is close to that, I use a 43 inch 4k. Each quadrant is effectively a 22 inch HD display. But I still have a second HD monitor because sometimes you need that logical separation. I tried 2 43 inch monitors but it made my neck hurt, lol.
My gaming rig is two ultrawides stacked on top of each other with vertical HD monitors on each side.
I don’t think I could ever go back to a single monitor setup. Screen real estate is ALWAYS at a premium. I feel so constrained when forced to use just one.
A different take: Metropolis, and Gotham, and of course Earth-616’s New York City are where our pantheons live. Larger than life characters meant to tell allegorical stories about cultural values. And every red-blooded American knows that Superman stands for Truth and Justice, Spider-Man is a selfless hero of the people, and that Batman is a billionaire psychopath who uses violence to address mental health issues, his own and society in general. That last one’s not great but it is quite American. Zeus was a bestiality-themed rapist, so I mean shades of grey or whatever, lol.
Oh yeah, for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I hope these are good. I liked John Henry Irons, Superboy, and Eradicator as well, lol. Just not the original, and need to be able to stand on their own. I desperately want more games like DE but what I don’t want is a bunch of bad actors churning out bad clones sold on someone else’s good reputation. Not that I’m accusing any of these games of that, just that given ZA/UM’s current situation, it’s hard not to worry.
And similarly, all 4 of these are not the real deal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for more games like this and I hope they’re good, but I will wait until Kurvitz and Rostov to be at the helm again before getting too excited.
I have FM frame rails on my car. While obviously this is not specifically for the jack points, it does significantly reinforce them. That’s kinda similar.
Kokomo. It’s just the worst.
As many have said, our National Parks are incredible, and even outside of them most of the western US is pretty awe-inspiring. I live in a place where, within an hour or two, I can go to desert badlands, alpine forests, coastal tide pools, and even skiing resorts for decent chunks of the year. I was recently up at 11k ft altitude in the Sierras and at -250 ft in Death Valley a few hours apart. The US is HUGE and big parts of it are still very wild. It’s something worth fighting to preserve.
Edit: Also we can’t read, I am American. Look, I didn’t say the education system was good.
Hey I’m both an annoying Rust user and I also don’t understand the borrow checker. I just put & and * in front of things until it works.
Gaming on Linux is pretty good nowadays. I’ve only run into one or two games I couldn’t get working. The vast majority of games work with Proton right out of the box
The Greatest Generation - Star Trek rewatch podcast. Rekindled my love for the greatest franchise in history. Hosts approach the show from a tv production background
Spout Lore - the best real-play podcast, in my opinion. Dungeon World with incredible world building despite almost everyone being named Greg
Blank Check with Griffin and David - film analysis from the film critic for the Atlantic and Arthur from the Tick / Orko / Watto, covering a director’s entire filmography each series
Marvel by the Month - Reading every Marvel comic, one month at a time. Has a gaggle of comic book industry legends as regular guests, talks about the context in which the comics were written, theme and interstitial music are bangers
It’s still good, as always it has its ups and downs but Ed is a wonderful addition to the show. I saw them live in San Diego a couple (?) years ago, one of the best live shows I’ve ever been to.
An experimental energy storage device exploded down the street, and a couple big chunks of shrapnel came down through the ceiling, smashed the shit out of an empty cube. We were lucky no one sat there.
Trust me, if the parents would have let me punch some holes through the walls to get rid of some heat, I would have.
Lol this is exactly why I made this post. I ended up using ComfyUI instead which has other, different python issues, but I got it working (kinda, no GPU but it’s fine it works)
