Move to a border state like Washington, get an enhanced driver license and cross into Canada? EDL functions like a passport for land crossings.

Not sure what sort of federal checks are done for issuing those and if it’s still possible, sorry

Wish I could lol. Broke as shit and I can’t just leave my family behind. Unfortunately to get Real ID I have to provide my citizenship documents but those are in my deadname + birth sex and I can’t get them fixed without a baseline of $1k (have to pay for at least 2 private doctors in the UK to verify I am my chosen gender, plus court fees and 18+ months processing time).

I’m so sorry. And the UK is also increasingly discriminating against trans people too, ugh

It’s rough and tough out here. If I knew I was going to be illegal as a kid I would’ve been so hyped for what crimes I did, but apparently just existing is one ahaha.

the United States does not recognize dual citizenship.

so if you get branded a criminal or terrorist, they’re coming after you. and they will absolutely threaten your second country into extradition if they want you bad enough

The highly-skilled, educated, and non-crazy ones of working age are actually great for other countries’ economies. If you work at a gas station or are crazy, not so much.

I have been unable to convince my spouse despite 9 years of trying. Really sad because we had two good options but chose to stick it out because of family (I say to hell with them but don’t have a veto proof majority there).

Can you put something in place for when things inevitably deteriorate?

If I were you, I’d be applying for visas I think, or maybe just preparing a visa application if it’s too costly to actually apply for one.
