James McAvoy for me. X-Men first Class, Split, Speak No Evil, even Victor Frankenstein. If MCavoy’s name is attached to it, I’m probably going to see it. Charlize Theron is next. Mad Max: Fury road, Monster, and Kubo. Old guard… she acted her heart out, but it was okay in the end. (First post)
Nicholas Cage
Oh man, I just watched The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and absolutely loved it. It was everything I wanted in a Nic Cage movie.
Well, not in his “I do anything to reduce my crushing debt” phase.
I agree.
But he is a legitimate talent. My favorite from him is “Joe.” Check it out.
He’s shooting Madden right now, which I’m super excited to see. It’s Nic Cage as John Madden and Christian Bale as Al Davis. Should be good.
I think Nicholas Cage is a fine actor, but he’s not a great actor IMO. Especially in the last 10-20 years, I feel like he’s developed some subtlety but the roles he’s taken have all been fuckin’ weird. Mostly I like his older work like Raising Arizona, Con Air, Face/Off, etc.
