(Spoilers)
Yep a very classic one of the time you may click in the link at the risk of spoilers.
It’s funny all the comments say “spoilers (the spoiler)” but none just say what the game is so i can find out for myself
Red Dead Redemption 2. At least I’m assuming it’s the second one. I’ve never played either.
It is.
Had it spoiled for me by reading the trivia section of a wiki page.
Oh no, no no no NOT AGAIN
People who defend spoilers are garbage. The passage of time does not permit you to be a complete piece of shit.
So, no one is allowed to talk about any piece of media ever on the off chance you might eventually get around to watching/reading/listening to it?
Okay buddy.
No, but there does need to be a reasonable time limit on when it is reasonable to not have to worry about spoiling something…
Why? Do you think new people will never play this? They don’t deserve to enjoy plot turns because they’re younger than you?
Do you think that no one can talk about a thing they like just because you’ve been too lazy to interact with it? The world doesn’t stop for you. Out of consideration, spoilers will be avoided. Not indefinitely though.
Lazy? Smug prick
Dude, I wasn’t talking about me. It is possible to think about things that affect other people rather than yourself, and to want other people to enjoy things as much as you did, but it seems you wouldn’t know much about that.
I’ve seen people get butthurt over spoilers from NES games. To me, that feels unreasonable.
There needs to be a point where we stop agonizing over spoiling content that is 30, 40 years old. Even if you never had a chance to play it, it’s 30 or 40 years old. I don’t know where that cutoff point needs to be. I’m just saying there needs to be one. And if you’re going to be upset over spoilers, over content that that’s that old, then maybe you need to be careful about what you’re reading.
Dunno. The ::: spoiler -tag does exist and is not difficult to use at all. Why not use it?
Because sometimes it isn’t always clear what will be a spoiler. >!And I think spoilering everything would be silly and not helpful at all. Especially considering that different Lemmy clients do spoilers differently sometimes!<
There doesn’t need to be a cutoff, you just go with ordinary politeness and put it behind a spoiler tag. It’s not even hard, it’s just polite.
What price politeness? Less agro than calling someone butthurt or lazy just for suggesting you don’t spoil a fun experience.
There are very old films that I would advise against spoiling.
There’s a reason it’s called spoiler. It spoils the experience for other people. There’s no need.
Be more thoughtful and less self centred.
“Agro”? I’m not the one upset over words on the internet…
Spoiler Alert!
!This game sucks ass!!<
