- prescriptions: good, small minimal copay but can basically get whatever i need or ask for
- dental: good, annoying minor deductable but overall decent
- disabillity insurance: good
- life insurance: havent used yet and no forseeable dependants or stakeholders in that sort of thing but whatevs
- other medical stuff: havent used 99% of it but orthotics was awesome
They’re referring to insurance offered as a benefit through their work.
As opposed to individual insurance you have to pay for entirely by yourself, if you’re freelance for instance.
They’re not talking about work-accident insurance, aka worker’s comp.
Workers comp comes out of taxes or something but end of the day, its an option altho i will say plans provided thru private insurance (work-provided insurance) are more flexible and realistic. Its not always going to be super reduceable to one discrete point in time in which you were at work and became acutely debillitated .
Often even when that happens and you dont know better your managers will subltely coach you into shrugging it off and either taking a slightly longer break or some other nominal concession that influences you to completey screw a future successfull claim, to your vastly differential peril and securing their own financial and professional incentive
