Is there no reject call button on iPhone or something, I get a red hangy uppy button that I love for those times when someone has the gall to request my speaking voice.

Unless I’m blind, it’s always just a bar at the bottom that says “swipe to answer” I’ve had a bit of luck pressing the power button, but that feels wrong

Not sure about android but it’s easy to ignore a call on iOS. If you’re using your phone when you get a call it’s just a pop up on the top that you can swipe away, if your phone is asleep when someone calls then either press the power button or swipe as if to go home.

If I flip my phone face down it silences the ringing. It doesn’t hang up, so it doesn’t give the caller any information, but it let’s you ignore it easier.

In my current phone pressing the lock button silences the ringing but doesn’t hang up, which is what I find ideal. But I had phones that didn’t just silence but did directly hang up, and it was really annoying not being able to only silence the call.

Rather we’re looking for a third option. Right now it’s either

        • accept: Maybe I don’t want to take the call now, or (more commonly), it’s unidentified / a scam call

        • decline: It might come across as rude in professional or interpersonal settings, or (more commonly) it will identify my line as being active to the scammers

What I want is an option to send it to the background, so that it can continue ringing out, while I continue with what I was doing.

I’m on android, but I guess this is a problem for iOS too

On my Android phone I just have to press any volume button (up or down) so it gets silent but the call is not declined

Yeah, but if you are doing anything with audio you are shit outta luck. Either have to decline (which you might not wanna do for various reasons) or wait for the call to end.

Frankly the ‘do not disturb’ option should work like that where calls don’t override, but doesn’t.
