Ideally I would want something that fits well with the aesthetics (late nineties or early two thousands), but I’m open for other suggestions.

Late nineties to early two thousands on an arch-based distro is Ayanami Rei territory for sure

EDIT: could also be Serial Expeirments Lain or Major Kusanagi depending on your age and horniness in asking this question

“If only there was some kind of late 90s anime featuring C and lisp that’s also heavily associated with linux users.”

    Lain

Not late 90’s or early oughts, but I’d put a Vtuber or two on there (personally, I’d do either Fuwamoco or Mel [if Mel were still in Hololive]). Otherwise, because of the ThinkPad, and the OS you’re using (which, from my experience, is a huge mistake if you’re a beginner to Linux), I remember watching something from the 80’s, that being Urusei Yatsura, so maybe Lum if you wanted to go that route. Otherwise, I’d say one of the characters from Rec!.

Aisha Clan-Clan is a perfect fit. Outlaw Star came out in 1998, about in the middle of the desired time period. The green in her typical outfit matches the green in your terminal.

    Anyone from Dragonball.

Or Love Hina. There’s some great choices there.

If youre looking to go less super popular, Armitage III, Ah! My Goddess, Slayers, Macross II are some of my all time favorites!
