It’s still wild to me people are rationalizing not even having a pistol let alone something equivalent to what ICE is rolling around with…

We’re nowhere near rock bottom. Shit can, and unfortunately will, get a lot worse before it gets better. We can (and obviously should) still be hitting the brakes as hard as possible.

But we’re in that brief moment where we’re still technically on the road, but you realize that nothing you do is going to be able to stay on it for more than another second.

We still need to be swerving trees to the best of our ability, but having people out and openly armed is swerving the trees.

Cops/ICE clearly have no qualms shooting unarmed people, but time and time again we see that when both sides have instant and equal access to deadly force in the moment, both sides are motivated to stay calm and actually de-escalate.

It’s only when one side think they’re the only ones with guns that they get paranoid about someone taking their guns or secretly having one.

Yes, cops do in fact change the way they act and talk to you when you inform them that yes officer I do have a pistol holstered on my right hip. I am a white guy and your mileage may vary, but I have a black coworker who has said that his experience is similar to mine.
