State? They would willing be leaving Canada (with a lot less of AB than they think they could take). The US would have all the advantage and it wouldn’t be granting statehood. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up with less rights than Puerto Rico. They’d have to go that route though since they couldn’t pull off being a separate country.

If Puerto Rico or DC were 60% white they’d have been states before Regan left office. Canada is* whiter than the USA, so they’d be granted statehood faster than Trump can lie.
