The Russian Kilo-class submarine, which was hit by a Ukrainian underwater drone in December 2025, has not moved for over a month, despite Russian claims that it was not damaged

To their credit, that might be true. It might be a complete trash heap like most of the Russian Navy, and thus incapable of moving long before the strike.

That’s unfair. The Russian navy gained a brand new submarine during the war with Ukraine.

      The Moskva.

Plus they have the world’s most expensive barge, Admiral Kuznetsov.

“The world’s most expensive barge” isn’t nearly the flex Putin wants it to be. Hell, I work retail. Gimme a pricing gun, and I can sell you the world’s most expensive anything.

Plus, their new sub might be really cool, but unless it’s in the Black Sea, it’s not doing shit to Ukraine.

You’re missing the mild humor. The Admiral Kuznetsov is an aircraft carrier for legal purposes a missile frigate that has regularly failed to run under its own power.

          For forty years.

It is towed from dry dock to dry dock.

          No better metaphor for Russia.
