“We need an energy ceasefire. A ceasefire on the energy assets. How can you talk about peace and [keep] attacking people, and knowing that people are freezing? How can these things go in parallel?”
…
“This is more about building a new energy system in Ukraine than just reconstruction.”
I have a lot of fucking questions to the top management of DTEK myself. But he has a point here, obviously. The repairmen are basically scrambling to constantly restore the power grid at the rate it’s damaged, and this isn’t a race that can be won, much less in freezing weather.
But also, this wouldn’t have to be this bad if DTEK and other energy companies prepared better.
How can you talk about peace and [keep] attacking people, and knowing that people are freezing?
Russia isn’t talking about peace.
The (obvious) hyprocricy is on the US that accept and disregard the whole situation while doing corruption talks in private and peace talk publicity.
Sadly, the EU does not take decisive action either, in the face of Russia’s continued terrorism and Ukraine’s human crisis.
