Fridley and Duluth schools, along with the state teachers union, are suing the Trump administration to keep federal immigration agents off school property.
The new measure comes as school leaders decry what they say is increased federal agent activity on and near campuses, causing fear and safety concerns. The plaintiffs are seeking an injunction barring enforcement within 1,000 feet of school property.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Minnesota against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and top officials at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection, asks a judge to reinstate the federal government’s decades-old “protected areas” policy, which limited enforcement in sensitive locations including schools

I wish them luck. A 30% drop in attendance is massive, especially if their funding is tied up with it, which is often the case. Hopefully this lawsuit doesn’t draw more ‘enforcement’ to these schools.
Unrelated but, that podium means business.
In no coincidence, ICE was literally circling the areas around the schools yesterday. We decided to pick up our youngest early because of it.
That’s atrocious. Since you’re there, would the 1,000 foot injunction against enforcement give you some peace of mind? I feel like I would be nervous even crossing through that line. I’m sorry you have to navigate that.
If I thought that ICE/DHS/etc actually cared about and followed the law, it would help sure. Right now I’m just trying to limit where we go, especially the kids alone, and try to help people that I can. I’m not personally in danger of deportation, so I can help with far less danger than a lot of people, but man, it sucks.
So what? The felon/pedophile doesn’t give a shit. It is just a distraction from his pedophilia and public executions of Americans on our streets.
So what is fight him at every turn.
