My initial thought is video games, everything has pros and cons, sure. However, it feels like anyone not into video games views them extrodinarly negatively. Any other hobbies parallel to that in your opinion?

    Depends on the circles you live near. I’ve never heard any problems in my area, but some places will take something as harmless as a furry con may be and try to convince one of the organizations partnering with the con to pull out, despite getting hefty donations.

    Cannot remember the exact con or organization, but happened at least once in the past couple years in, I wanna say, either Ireland or Britain. Relatively innocent enough 18+ only convention had people trying to pull the “won’t somebody please think of the children” card, IIRC, and had concerns about the dead horse stereotype of furries being zoophiles ( untrue* and zoophiles are outed from the fandom real quick if you’re revealed to actually be one ).

    *as with all fandoms, there are degenerates that go undetected
