The insurance’s doctor (who is paid directly by the insurance company, who didn’t actually look at your medical history at all, and who may or may not even exist) says it isn’t necessary, so they’ll refuse to pay. And that means that lots of the most vulnerable populations are entirely priced out of preventative treatment until they’re already in their 50’s (when insurance will start paying for it).
You’re right but it’s also dependent on your doctor, your symptoms, and where you live. Please don’t discourage others from seeking out treatment for this because it might be difficult to get insurance to cover it.
