One man harming thousands. Sounds like a crime that would be punishable by death in olden times.
There was an incident in South Korea some years ago where a greedy developer built an apartment building with substandard concrete; the building later collapsed and killed a few hundred people. The guy was tried and convicted and as he was being frog-marched to his sentencing hearing, friends and relatives of the victims were coming out of the crowd and beating him while his escorts just looked away.
It’s really enjoyable to imagine that happening here in the US, but then it’s enjoyable to imagine winning the lottery, too.
Vietnam would have had him executed by now
People like this would be shot. People would group together and hire gunmen to get rid of criminals in the old west.
Of course their security was just a few body guards and that’s it. Nobody was living in high tech buildings separate from everyone else.
It’s still punishable by death! Not legally, officially, but very much in reality!
Sounds like just anothwr day in the USA
Funny how the self proclaimed savior of humanity keeps treating regulations like optional DLC: If anyone else ran 59 gas turbines without permits they would be buried in fines. Billionaires call it innovation, everyone breathing nearby calls it another asthma attack waiting to happen.
Don’t worry, it’s only affecting a poor area. No billionairs are affected.
keeps treating regulations like optional DLC
He, like any shillionaire, sees people as NPCs.
That’s why he was so enthusiastic to kill infants, children, teens and adults by cutting USAID.
If he’s ever admitted to a hospital, I genuinely hope that he’s left to suffer and rot.
These fuckers don’t go to hospitals, they have personal clinics and on call concierge doctors anywhere anytime.
Can someone just shoot the bastard?
Or at least sabotage the facility?
Seriously…
If we are to learn from history, and the successes of various resistance groups in Europe when occupied by the Nazis, we would learn that targetting the higher ups and figureheads don’t work. What DOES work, is targeting the workers - the average people who facilitate the machine. When the architect of the holocaust was assassinated, it only sped things up and made it worse. So instead resistance groups started doing drive bys on average ol’ Deborah’s and Steves who was employed to operate the Nazi bureaucracy, do the paperwork, doing the monitoring, doing the deliveries, average folk who worked for them - as destabilizing the machinery is far more effective than targeting figureheads. As leftists know so well - it’s the workers that do all the work.
So rather than shooting Musk, it will genuinely be more effective to shoot at Tesla/SpaceX/X employees until they stop showing up to work. Same goes for banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, healthcare insurance companies, etc. They don’t even have security detail. There’s a million other jobs they could be doing, real work like helping to rebuild, instead they choose to make these demons dreams come true in exchange for a financial bribe. As my atheist father would say about religion - “I fear not the cult leader, but the millions who follow them.” Workers and employees of these companies are just as fair, and empirically more effective targets than the billionaire CEOs.
…In a videogame, of course. I would never incite
self-defenceviolence.

It needs to die ugly. All the musk children need to die or be sterilized. Everything it cares about needs to end, and be thrown into wherever we decide to dispose of used nuclear fuel.
Shoot him into space on one of his or Bezos’ rockets. Watch him explode as a result of the very thing he tried to accomplish.
Spacexs operational rockers are a standard of reliability
Blue needs a operational launchpad first, they kinda blew up their only one
Also that would be a rather quick death

I work in emissions monitoring and this is super illegal.
Its only illegal if someone prosecutes them. That isn’t going to happen before the purge.
Since when has illegality stopped
parasitesrich people?Yup, the “penalty costs” are just costs of doing business. And the richer they get, the less impactful the penalty is so it gets easier to write off.
Specifically which part is illegal? Is it lack of planning permission? Is it an environmental law? Etc.
While I hate being cold to peoples suffering, didn’t most of them vote for the face eating leopard party. They asked for their corporate overlords personal profit to be protected from their lungs, their environment, any consideration. They asked for billionaires to be above the law.
They are clearly being wronged here, there should be heavy fines, shutdowns and even jail time but my empathy is in short supply
About 40% of Mississippi voters voted for Kamala Harris. Additionally, about 38% of the state’s residents are black.
Just because they voted for a leopard to eat their face, doesn’t mean they deserve to have their face eaten
Not really. If he has permissions for a temporary install, it is above board. He just needs to get a permanent permit before moving to a long term generator instead of temporary fixes.
Should the permissions have been blocked? Now that’s a diff question
So you’re just going to parrot Elon Musk’s public statement about why he doesn’t need permission? Get outta here!
He has more than 2x as many turbines than is allowed for a temporary install. The article makes it abundantly clear that these things are illegal.
Musk doesn’t have permission to do this, no matter what excuse he gives.
Remember that anthropic are renting this data center, and should be seen as just as responsible as Musk.
https://www.theverge.com/science/935229/spacex-anthropic-ipo-ai-capacity-deal-colossus
Also Musk is such a loser, he built and ran this giant polluting data center without knowing what to do with it, and ended up renting it out at what looks like a loss.
Along with any dipshit using AI to begin with. As much of a complete piece of shit as musk is (and he is a HUGE piece of shit), the end users of this shit share in the blame too. Any idiot using grok or whatever the fuck anthropic call their horseshit are culpable.
To a proportionate degree yes, but AI is being shoved down the throats of workers and subsidized by the companies providing it too. I have some sympathy for the clueless grandma, or the person who’s genuinely lost their mind thanks to this.
I have zero sympathy for the willfully ignorant. There’s more than enough information and evidence that this shit is horrible on many fronts, and anyone who has managed to ignore it is toeing into dangerously stupid territory. Making excuses for dumb assholes is how we’ve ended up with the stupidest cunts ever running things.
Dario Amodei is the one renting out the servers while pretending to he’s the Wholesome Ethical AI Guy. His behavior is nearly on par with Musk here.
I’m much more interested in him (behavior that’s extremely intentional, with the added slime of being deceptive and yet enjoying a ton of undeserved, fawning PR) than the average clueless Meemaw. Similar to many other trash systems, you have to look at the people maintaining the system, not the people using it.
people did that work, just because elon musk tells people what to do doesn’t mean those people should be exonerated from the consequences as well. the people doing the work sure as shit falls out there ass, know there was no permit. if there no permit, then why not a great fire ball in the night sky.
Yea I’m not sure why this isn’t the normal way to think. The logic of “they are just doing a job and getting theirs” doesn’t hold up for everything so where is the line for these people?
Oh shucks i see you’ve signed up to drag me to the death camp! Not your fault! You’re just getting yours! Now let me be polite and handcuff myself!
We need to be more serious.
At some point participation is complicity but unless we make it hostile to work with, for, or in the interests of these inhuman monsters, people won’t know not to. Labour is not in a position to know what work is illegal or not.
Working for the wealthy needs to be seen as a threat against society. It’s deeply anti-social. We have no way to differentiate them in their range of evil, and they made it impossible to find out. So at some point, to protect the working, poor and middle classes, if you’re wealthy, you’re a threat. Don’t want to be treated as a threat? Give up your wealth and join the peasantry. We need to police our own to protect ourselves from the threat of wealth.
I agree, Elon is not at fault here. All he did was finance it with enough money to convince people to ignore the law.
Paying someone to do a crime is a crime.
Sorry, my sarcasm did not translate through text. I was trying to poke at the original commenters shifting of blame from Elon to the people that he hired
It’s nice to see Elon following in his father’s footsteps of hurting black people in an effort to get even more needlessly rich. Honestly though, somebody should take Elon back to South Africa and hurl him down a mineshaft.
I was landing in Memphis a few weeks ago, and you can see the literal cloud of pollution surrounding this thing. There’s a distinct haze you can see centered on the thing.
I have a suspicion they put the gas turbines near those communities specifically to fuck with them the same way they bulldozed poor neighborhoods for roads
Well they probably are poor and thus have less means to defend themselves.

More likely bully tactics: they have little resources to fight it.
It’s sad that the norm is to expect those in power will try to ruin lives as fast and as efficiently as possible. Just why… They have billions of dollars already… Why
Bunch of Harkonnen scumbags.
I ask myself the same question. It feels like such an empty life. More and more money that they would need many lifetimes to be able to spend, which will be worth absolutely useless if and when they end up fucking up the whole world. It doesn’t make sense at all. Yes, it’s nice to have money to buy whatever you want, I won’t argue that, but come on. At this point I’m leaning towards them just having so much fucking ego that they can’t stop anymore. If anyone has another possible explanation, I’d really like to know.
Because they’re in a race against each other that they can never win. Elon Musk may have gotten a little wiggle room from his competition when SpaceX went public but you can bet your ass (cause I know all of you don’t have a dollar to waste) Larry Page is running his brain ragged trying to think about how he becomes the most powerful one. It’s just a pissing contest and unfortunately they’re really careless
To billionaires money is just like a high score in an arcade cabinet. And they’re also evil.
“black communities” …say no more, they’re fuckin’ SOL…
in one of the most racist state missisipi.
Mississippi black communities, not only are they SOL they’re about to be raided by local law enforcement.
Ozymandias
Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: “My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!” Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.
They are just going to call it another “Sacrifice Zone” like they do the cancer alley in Louisiana arent they?
Some people just are expendable for progress, what can the country do?
Expendable for
progressprofits.
It’s shocking that they just seem to sit out there in the open. Afaik they are very delicate and fragile machines.
Would be a shame if something hapens to those…
What would happen if I by accident fly my drone into those fans?
Probably very illegal! Drones would be relatively easy to track versus for example bullets from a random hunting rifle. They should really label every single bullet of ammunition in the US.
Golly, can you imagine if someone maybe hooked up a small tube to fire shotgun shells FROM a drone? That would be awful!
you mean those military drones that basically do exist already. Hack, I think soon be available on Alibaba as well ><. But instead of a real gun its more like the “Salt Guns” (yeah this is a thing as well now eh)…
Real inefficent, you will need to fly and reload multiple times to have a significant effect
https://armourersbench.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/sequence-01.00_03_54_10.still006.png?w=1024
Use this and just drop it from a drone instead of launched from a rpg
Could add a frag slieve if you really want, remember that anything wotks
yeah, but much harder to find over the counter than shotgun shells
The problem would be a light remotely operated shotgun
If you can already get shotgun shells and make the light shotgun then you are 70% of the way to a DIY bomb
