Jurassic Park, but a future civilization of tiny beings tries to bring back various species of the Cenezoic Era, especially humans, among a few planets in a backwater star system . Chaos ensues. They lose control, evacuate, and slag the planets from orbit on the way out. Unbeknownst to them, a corrupt employee loses a vial of prokaryotes while trying to smuggle it out to a rival faction. It’s smashed and washed into the sea in the process. The employee gets eaten by a frilled lizard. Billions of years later, that region of the galaxy is still quarantined. The descendants of the surviving prokaryotes look up at the stars hungrily from the surface of a tiny blue dot.
