Sounds like a power surge as the microwave doesn’t stop correctly. Either my home’s have always had better breakers or the microwaves I’ve had are designed so it doesn’t create a power surge if you open the door as an off switch (in the UK btw). Never had anything happen in over 20 years of doing this, but a fair warning to give :)
