Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was personally and explicitly warned that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning a major attack roughly 10 days before the October 7 massacre, but dismissed the threat and did not alert his security chiefs, according to a shocking new Haaretz report.
The revelations come from research for an upcoming book Hostages: 843 Days of Abandonment, written by journalists Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval, who writes for Haaretz.
Don’t quote me on it but iirc there were even several barracks worth of soldiers told not to post to even basic security positions for the music festival that was happening that day.
Color me shocked.
In other news: things dipped in water become wet!
Not suprised.
A good level headed take is presented here: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/failure-at-the-fence/
Israel wants “Greater Israel”, and will use whatever means to get it, from the river to the sea.
HAMAS is sworn to destroy Israel and will use whatever means to do so, from the river to the sea.
l could believe this, it’s fully plausible that October 7 was a trap. But, that trap was inevitable and could not be avoided by HAMAS, because HAMAS must attack. They will attack again …and of course Israel will respond, and use any attack as justification to grab as much territory as they can (with a ten-fold response).
They both have the same goals, they are locked in.
I hate it when conspiracy theorists are proven right. It fuels the flames for so much chaos.
Next we’ll find out the CIA really can read your thoughts and tinfoil hats really do prevent that.
If the conspiracy theorists aren’t at least sometimes right they would be fully ignorable
Too true, hence the aforementioned chaos.
They don’t need to directly read your thoughts when they can channel it into a specific line.
Metal Gear Solid predicted this in that govies and other authoritarian tribes will attempt to ‘not to control content, but create context’.
They figure they have the river of life mapped out, when in reality they only have a nice paddle that they are smashing into the water to row the boat of humanity.
What are you trying to say?
What part of what I said was unclear?
The part that you imply that Netanyahu knowing about 2023-10-07 was a conspiracy theory
… what do you think “conspiracy theory” means? It’s not a disparaging term.
Is that why my comments are being received controversially? People are doing mental gymnastics to label me a Netanyahu supporter?
Conspiracy theory means it isn’t simple to explain imo, otherwise it’s just a guess
Old news, but hopefully it catches this time.
They basically let Hamas attack and take hostages in order to have an excuse for the the current an ongoing genocide.
hes doing this to stay out of jail himself they were very close to prosecuting him.
Are you saying he orchestrated the genocide to draw attention away from other stuff he was being prosecuted for? (Sorry, I’m dumb and can often infer the wrong thing from ambiguous text.)
Here is what I was able to find about criminal charges against him
There’s a bit more nuance, but yes, that’s exactly it.
The nuance being: The Palestinian Authority (West Bank leadership) was this close to reaching a well designed agreement with Israel, which would bring peace to that part of the region.
Hamas in Gaza saw that as a threat to their authoritarian rule because if West Bank can have peace, why does Gaza have to still fully oppose Israel?
Iran saw that as a threat because Israel that’s not hitting and getting hit on all sides is an Israel that can become even stronger and fully dominate the region.
Netanyahu and his clique saw that as a threat because peace with Palestine would mean that Israeli people start looking into his corruption and mismanagement.
So, Iran threw a bunch of money and intel at Hamas, Hamas planned the October 7th attack, Netanyahu ordered the military to allow the attack to happen. Everybody’s happy. Except the civilians, of course, but let’s not get civilian lives getting in the way of politics, right?
It was my conspiracy theory from the beginning
The Mossad knows what I ate for breakfast and didn’t know this?
They were able to infiltrate into Hezbollah so deeply that they could control their supply chain, fake a whole pager company from scratch and hide a remotely controlled bomb in every communication device, yet could not have any evidence of the terrorist attack planned by hundreds of people?
And by coincidence they had the excuse to start the purge and genocide?
I’m not much of a conspiracy believer but Netanyahu said multiple times on camera that Hamas is good for Israel and given how surveiled Gaza was the theory that Israel allowed the attack is very convincing.
Who benefits most from that Oct. 7th attack?
it’s kept bibi and the right wing in power. but who’s to say, maybe he’s a rational and honest actor <ghack>
one day israelis will wake and depose him, and russians will overthrow putin, and we’ll impeach and imprison trump…
I can dream yo…
They’re all too brainwashed to care.
I can dream yo…
Course he did. It was probably in the monthly status update from Hamas.
It really was isreals 9/11.

“Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US” is a President’s Daily Brief prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency that was given to U.S. president George W. Bush on Monday, August 6, 2001. The brief warned, 36 days before the September 11 attacks, of terrorism threats from Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, including “patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for a hijacking” of U.S. aircraft.
Others tried to warn Bush, too, and they were always intercepted by henchmen like Condoleeza Rice.
Willing to bet the US knew about Oct 07 ahead of time too
Why would the master share info with its dog? I doubt Netanyahu shared that with us beyond, “We expect a thing to happen.”
That’s essentially what this report is saying the Egyptian intelligence chief told Netanyahu, isn’t it? Hamas is planning “something unusual, a terrifying operation.”
I suspect that Hamas and Hezbollah are currently planning to do something horrible some day in the future.
Next time they do something horrible, you can say there was some guy on the internet that knew about it ahead of time.
I suspect that Hamas and Hezbollah are currently planning to do something horrible some day in the future.
I mean… the IDF does something horrible multiple times a week.
the blowback from this war is going to echo tragically for ages.
Next time they do something horrible, you can say there was
some guy on the interneta SpaceCowboy that knew about it ahead of time.Sorry username is too relevant there to pass up including it. It must be called out as a space cowboy’s prediction. Haha.
He did nothing because he wanted to start genocide.
He did nothing because he wanted to
startcontinue genocide. It’ been going on since the 1970s, it’s only intensified as of late.
He wanted any excuse to forestall the corruption trials for him and his wife. A forever war / genocide worked out perfectly for him.
Bingo. It’s like 9/11 if you would believe it.
If 9/11 was about a music fest or other youth gather, I’d believe Bush or Cheney could have had full knowledge. This is just different enough.
The Bush Administration were well aware that something was up just before 9/11, too, and deliberately ignored it, hoping to use it as a pretense for a war in Iraq, so Dick Cheney’s Halliburton could take over the Iraqi oilfields. There are multiple documented instances where warnings were given directly to the highest levels, and literally NOTHING was done to investigate or prepare for it.
They probably thought there would be a car bomb or shooting or something, and we got 9/11.
It wasn’t just 9/11. There’s nuance to what they do that gets lost in translation. The most 1-to-1 for me would be Pearl Harbor.
No one from the US planned the Pearl Harbor attack, but it is believed by some that Roosevelt made policy decisions that goaded Japan into attacking the US as a means of gaining support for entering WWII.
No one in the US administration planned 9/11. What is today framed as incompetence was clearly stonewalling from people in key places of power to allow an attack to manifest. It’s been years and I don’t remember everything I’ve ever heard that’s been debunked. I do remember the head of the CIA refusing to send intel to the FBI was a big sticking point. I think I remember there being a drill going on that day about hijacked planes that made communication confused. I still don’t get why building 7 went down, or why some claimed it was almost totally empty that day.
So too with Israel. HAMAS has been allowed to fester in Palestine by the top Israeli officials, going so far as to assassinate more moderate candidates and even smuggle in money to fund the organization. Israel has for a long time had what is considered one of the most sophisticated and robust information networks in the world. There is no way that at least grumbles of this attack were unknown.
I grew up through 9/11. I saw what patriotism does to people and what leaders use it for.
They probably thought there would be a car bomb or shooting or something, and we got 9/11.
It’s sickening to consider how many holders of defense stocks and positions of power were likely “pleasantly surprised” by this development.
Didn’t they specifically reduce defenses in order to make sure it would be a big enough deal that they could play it for support of going on the offensive?
Or has that been debunked now?
It has not, at least that I’ve seen anywhere.
The soldiers they removed from the border were sent to Cisjordania to help colonize it, so it’s entirely possible they just underestimated the threat and thought they could focus on expanding their colonial system elsewhere.
Cisjordania
West Bank in english.
If this is true, who is the real enemy of Israel?
If this is true, who is the real enemy of Israel?
Fundamentalists.
Netanyahu is from a fundamentalist right-wing faction in Israel. They’re basically the “Nazis but Israeli”.
Hamas and Hezbollah are religious fundamentalist groups that preach destruction of Israel.
For that matter - fundamentalists are the common enemy of everybody everywhere. Fundamentalism should be considered a mental illness and treated in lockdown.
That includes MAGA, right?
Itself.
All goyim?
This is old news right? I remember reading about it a long time ago
NYT did an analysis that came to the same conclusion like a month after the attacks, and posting it on Reddit got me banned from a lot of news subs.
I remember hearing about it, but not the source. It’s in character for Israel though. Israel doesn’t like Jews if they’re the “wrong” kind of Jew. If Hamas had targeted a military base or political gathering, it probably would have been stopped before hand.
Sure is news to me.
