And the rest of the media just carry on as if nothing happened.
Not the slightest collegiality or respect for their trade.
The media should all be thundering against Trump and his undemocratic practices.

But this is what USA has become. 🤢

I agree with you in principle but if nobody goes then the President is running around completely unchecked by the media. He will accept that happily.

They don’t have to go with the program. There are other ways to learn what’s happening, and report independently instead of the shitshow current media represent.

I disagree. Him not being covered over that weekend was probably the best thing to happen to this country in a long time. He even displayed his frustration multiple times that he wasn’t being covered. The more opportunities Americans get to forget Trump the quicker this nation can heal.

It is possible for the media to still cover the atrocities of this administration while not covering Trump, they just did it.

Their President is already running around unchecked by the media. Not being on the plane with him just means you’re not having to “report” whatever demented nonsense he spewed while you had to share air with him and his soiled diaper.

There’s a pretty good argument that the entire concept of the White House Press pool, flying on the plane working in the building being beholden to the White House for access, by definition means that they’re not checking the president. That part of the reason why our media has been so incapable of reporting critically on the president for decades now is because of this kind of access.

Well at least CNN won’t be left behind with the other flunkies to die, when he changes planes.

That was almost certainly the incident that sparked this. He would have loved for the press not to have forced the exposure of his catering truck disaster of a ruse in August, which was probably done out of national security interests, but only ones of Trump’s own making.

I want to complain about the hatred Trump has for everything American, but CNN is sn absolutel trash tabloid. Not much better than FOX. I remember watching both channels at the same time once in a hotel lobby. It was in his first term the morning a scandal broke. Both of them were interviewing experts in the field and those experts were giving sound explanations. Both of them were completely uninterested in those explanations and kept interrupting them to try and put salacious words into their mouths. It was infuriating to watch.
