Always irked me, the term “trickle down”. It implies the masses are only deserving of whatever slips through from the ceiling above…

“Look, kids! This slow drip from the ceiling under this lake has created a small puddle. In thousands of years from now, this puddle will be much larger. Possibly a pond! Imagine that, a pond!”

“But you said there’s a lake above us?”

“That’s a private lake. Trespassers will be shot.”

  • We’re meant to live in groups of like 50 or something, and trusting elders made sense because their survival was tied to the survival of everyone in the group.

Now we’re in groups of millions and still believing what people of authority have to say because “why would they lead us astray? Surely their survival depends on our ability to thrive, too? Right? Guys?”

  • Because the people don’t choose their options, just from the options chosen for them. The rich are one team, and our options are just to give us the illusion of choice and to pit us against each other as if it were left v. right and not haves v. have-nots. Notice the options are always deeply rooted in the “haves” camp…

From the outside looking in (not American, but Canada has similar problems) it looks transparently theatrical. But then I look around in Canada with that same “outsider” perspective and, yeah, it’s just as bad here. Our Premier of Ontario is a slightly less embarrassing version of Trump. Claims to be “for the people” but gives little-to-no fucks whatsoever based on his actions.

Anyway… Ready whenever others are to burn this all down…
