One, you can punish the boomers. When Z gets in power, abolish pensions, Social Security, and Medicare. Let the old die from poverty and disease. And then you yourself won’t have any safety net when you’re that age.
Two, you can focus on the class struggle. Focus on weakening the billionaires who control us and who made up this bullshit in the first place. Target income inequality, access to services, and draconian employment practices. Begin the century-long transformation of capitalism. This is the harder road.
Boomers own 52% of the country, they ARE the class struggle. Over 55s together over 70%. I don’t think anyone in gen Z is operating under the assumption they could ever retire anyway? They’re not pumping out enough babies to fund their retirement. Neither are us millennials.

Gen Z doesn’t need to be in power for this. The actual boomers are doing this on their way out.
Seems to me you can handle it one of two ways.

So which one will do more good?
Obviously the latter. But I need to make fun of older Americans who lost the plot for my mental health
i appreciate you for this answer
I appreciate you speaking truth to situation. It’s easy for me to get caught up in the rage, so I at least owe some emotional honesty
I saw wildmimic in this thread too and know they’re kind of on the same page
TacoButtPlug wasn’t the one spewing truth btw.
i spew other things ;p
Damn I’m stupid.
Yo, @snarkpolo@lemmy.world ! I’m dumb as hell and should have said thank you on your comment. That is all

Watch boomers mald and rejoice in schädenfreude.
