“One of the things that we heard last night, resoundingly across the country, is that we are in … a new movement in this country,” Flanagan said. “Many of us were elected who refused corporate PAC money, who are beholden only to the people who elected us and are ready to fight for bold change. And so I think it’s time for new leadership.”

Quick reminder that Minnesota is a state with a left party independent from the DNC.

They caucus with, and accept money from the DNC, but the DFL has always been slightly more to more progressive than the DNC.

Wow, never had heard of the DFL, but now I read the wiki, and that is a pretty cool history…at least before they got a bit more conservative in the post-war period, but still cool!

And the person who ran Minnesota’s DFL for a decade has been the DNC chair for like 21 months…

A big reason why this wave was not only huge, but full of progressives…

Minnesota is a unique state looking at it. Something about it.

Significant rural population that almost exclusively votes conservative (for reasons that don’t entirely make sense). From what I hear, there are a LOT of anarcho-communist groups throughout the state. They take education and hunger seriously. There’s a LOT of really rich people though.

I strongly believe thats why Walz and the State were targeted so hard by Trump. A state that naturally opposes authoritarianism is an anathema to the regime.
