      Escape the open parenthesis by prefixing it with a backslash, like such

      \(R)

      To prevent the autocorrect to ® and produce (R) instead

        Using Mbin through a browser, I see it as (R) in my post (capital R inside parentheses). Are you saying my earlier comment with no escape character renders as the trademark symbol for you?

        Regardless, it’s rendered incorrectly in the article’s picture caption.

          Correct, for me it’s showing in both your text and the quoted text as the registered trademark symbol rather than being the (R) designation.
