there’s https://lemmyverse.link, but a native way of doing so would be nice.
Ultimately, using a protocol handler instead of URLs would solve that (ie: like how mailto
links works).

lemmy://
(or fediverse://
) protocol, to make linking content, users, communities, etc more universal across instances, apps, etcLazy to a point where they only cared about changing some terminology (ex: Toot -> Truth) in English.
If you put the UI in french, it says that Trump made a prout (basically a fart).
Because the backend for media storage in Lemmy is pictrs, and svg isn’t one of the supported file format.
That said, I wish as the instance admin that we could store some custom emojis as svg :(
We could make them very light on resources, and easily scalable.
At least not everyone is toxic online.

One option would be for the big manufacturers to ignore the market and see if new players are able to thrive in such a market or not.
If the amount requested is too steep, they’ll end up with no new players and a shortage of high end phones, which is sure to piss off a portion of the population.
Classic worm brainrot 🙄
Of course, those that cares about fighting disinformation are leaving the platform, further concentrating the filth that prefer to hide the facts when faced with them.
Let it sink, it’s unsalvageable.
Personally I use it when I can’t easily find an answer online. I still keep some skepticism about the answers given until I find other sources to corroborate, but in a pinch it works well.
Kobo and Boox are better at making eReaders anyway.
Only when a contact sends me a Reddit link, which I open through Geddit as to not give them any ad revenue, and I do not comment or vote at all.
I don’t actively search for stuff fhere either.
Do CloudFlare next.
IMO if they request themselves to be banned from a remote instance for such a reason, I don’t see the harm on my end.
In Canada, convicted criminals retains their right to vote.
After all, it’s a citizen’s right, not a privilege.
Ads, better to see ads and make the information available to all, than have a portion of the population unable to access the information at all.
They’re moving to the Google TV streamer, which isn’t just a dongle behind the TV anymore.
It’s just that it’s hard to actually quantify, so the shareholders will prefer to go with enforcement that forces people to buy the games and console than taking a risk on hypotheticals.
Personally, I never bought a Wii U/Switch and played my fair share of games through emulation only.
I kinda get that they’ll do whatever than can to shut down an emulator for a console still selling and available on the shelves though. Not that there aren’t legitimate cases for it (homebrew software and games), but that’s not what Nintendo is concerned about.
But screw that for legacy consoles, game preservation is important too.
If I had a monitor to dedicate for each, sure, but I prefer using all my monitors for either systems I’m using, plus my work computer is on a dedicated network on a VPN tunnel so that wouldn’t work well for that anyway.
You know that saying about making your own bed?
