I actually have some experience with this!
I travel a lot and always have an IFAK and a somewhat extensive “boo boo” kit.
The IFAK covers serious trauma, car crashes, GSWs, whatever. Haven’t had to use this thank fuck. Standard stuff though, take your Stop The Bleed. I carry a tourniquet (I like snake staff systems), compressed gauze, pressure dressing, chest seals, trauma scissors, gloves. You can safely reduce this to the tourniquet and the gauze for 90% of use cases though.
The boo boo kit contains more comfort items, stuff to turn a moderately bad day into a mild inconvenience. It has a bunch of stuff but by FAR the most used items are these in order of frequency:
Ibuprofen - carry many doses
Small bandages - 3M Nexcare are the good ones
Moleskin - helps with shoe blisters, friends use it a lot
Deviant ollam folding scissors - for cutting moleskin, hangnails, whatever. TSA doesn’t care about them.
Pseudoephedrine - the behind the counter stuff, NOT phenylephrine from the aisles. This is the good stuff, helps with allergies, mild colds etc.

Problem: children are depressed, have nobody to talk to, and want to kill themselves
Solution: pervasive surveillance to make sure they learn that they cannot express themselves in any way, shape, or form, fully preparing them for the digital hellscape we’ve created
Like sure, the chat bots shouldn’t be encouraging people to kill themselves or be used in the first place but this is 100% the worst possible response.

I was going to make that joke but didn’t have the guts to, bravo

Can I be the honorary /u/PM_ME_YOUR_EMPENNAGE? I promise I won’t let this go to my head

Don’t threaten me with a good time

Bonus points for VRF into IMC accidents thinning the billionaires out a bit. We can then call Gulfstreams “T tailed billionaire killers”

If they stopped providing services to FL180+ non-part-121 traffic they’d see way more reduction in load than just cancelling a little 121 traffic. Idk if anyone has looked at the unfiltered flight trackers but there are a fuck ton of private/business jets up in the flight levels and they’re not flying as predictable of routes (usually into smaller satellite airports near the main ones). They can’t do that though because it would upset all the rich people.
Lol “gay” funny, whatever. Like at least use the MAGA somehow… They’re basically the technical arm of the current administration, or the administration is the legislative arm of the tech hegemony, depends on the week.

Harsh truth, the entire bandwidth of all the HF bands combined, not just the ham allocations, fully DC to ~30MHz, is smaller than a single mediocre home internet connection (per Shannon Hartley theorem). If even 0.1% of the world started using ham radios to do so much as send the bare minimum of ultra compact text messages to each other the entire spectrum would be clogged to the point of uselessness.
HF is great for very localized communications disruptions, but a nationwide or worldwide internet failure would not remotely be helped via HF.
They rip them apart and use the non-serialized components as repair parts. If apple didn’t try to overcharge for and restrict repair parts this would be less of a thing.

You’re…on it… Just use Tor to access it if you don’t want your house raided.
Ideally we need to move fediverse instances into Tor “hidden services” so that they can’t be located and shut down, then we can make all the actionable threats we want all day long. Another option is Dread, a Tor Reddit clone but idk how they’d take to having a bunch of leftists descend on what is ultimately a pseudo drug marketplace platform.

The left really needs to learn how to use Tor before it’s too late

YOU CAN MAKE STOP STICKS AT HOME.

Cut into 2-3 inch lengths at an angle with a grinder/hacksaw to form a point of both ends, hot glue to a 3ft triangular strip of pink insulation foam from home depot or wherever. Spray with contact cement, glue stick, or similar then wrap in paper or fabric, ideally brightly colored so people don’t step on them.

This article makes no fucking sense. In a normal system, nothing you could reasonably call “zoning” should change flash read speeds. WTF are they talking about.
To all the people telling OP they’re wrong, you don’t fly enough. The issue isn’t evenly distributed. It’s not like cars in traffic or whatever.
Airlines put the expensive seats in the front. The people who can afford them are usually much older, either traveling retirees or very late career white collar workers who have significant status. They’re the first ones holding up everyone because they take forever to find all the assorted shit (personal item, oversized roller bag, neck pillow, laptop, ipad, lost earbud, etc) they’ve stuck all over the place, which the gate agent/FAs wouldn’t admonish them for because of their aforementioned status. But they’re first class, so the peasants behind them can wait in the bread line.
After they get off (on watching you glare), depending on airline, it’s the fraction of people who are old and not rich, or don’t fly often and aren’t used to all the ritual. They’ll have placed their bag in an overhead that’s 12 rows behind them and demand everyone stop and crowd surf it up or else they’ll just sit there blocking the line.
After them come the young vacation families, you know, the ones who had the screaming baby for the last 6 hours. They couldn’t be bothered to pay for seat selection to save money so one parent is with one kid three rows ahead but needs to coral the kids behind them because the other parent was playing on a Nintendo switch for the whole flight and didn’t try to organize all the kids toys, now lost to entropy, and so the marital spat and bawling (louder now) children begin.
Then there’s you. You fly a lot so you have nothing more than two pairs of underwear and a toothbrush, all safely hidden from the TSA in your prison wallet and ready to go without so much as a nanosecond of notice, along with your phone and airpods to combat the screaming child in front of you. You got 31B, way in the back, after trying to game united’s seat assignment system by checking in only after all but the exit row seats were taken, but someone missed their flight and here you are.
Generally the legacy airlines will have the most old people, but the vast majority of people on them are very used to flying, because they know better than to book a budget airline. It’ll be slow yet ordered.
The budget airlines like united and frontier will be the opposite, lots of young spry 20 somethings, but lots of vacation families that couldn’t afford Delta… I won’t sugar coat it, it’s gonna be a shit storm. The FAs have been contractually required to keep everyone at the very edge of their sanity through the enforcement of a variety of draconian company policies (like turning on all the lights half way through a redeye to scream about some credit card offer), so things are primed for chaos. Lots of shoving and yelling. Everyone’s reviewing the Wikipedia “list of crimes of passion” to see if this qualifies.
Then there’s spirit. Half the people on the flight will be coming down off of something they got on the dark web by the time you arrive at the gate. You’ve already seen at least a liter of blood spilled from various fist fights. Everyone was already up and crushing each other in the aisle long before the captain even briefed the approach. The FAs have locked themselves in the lavs by now and the captain (an FFDO) has barricaded the flight deck with charts and duct tape and is aiming his questionably modded P320 at he door. Welcome to the new season of Hunger Games - Spam Can. You’re on your own, good luck and good hunting.

To be clear, the flipper is just a Girl Tech IM-me with an NFC chip. If it lets people do a thing, that thing has been possible for decades. Just wait until someone makes a popular device based on a cheap fully featured wideband SDR like the AD9363 or LMS7002. Shit is gonna get fucking wild.

I don’t think anyone’s been keeping stats but it’s been a thing ever since GPS was widely available and cheap-ish. It seems to divide up between stalking and scummy car dealerships with a few people under fed surveillance thrown in.
