I understand them. I’m not American, and I’m something like a middle class so I’d vote for blue. And most of the people here probably think the same, we have that echo chamber. But if I were poor as I was most of my life, and that’s like most of the people voting, I’d vote red.

The problems are education, healthcare, worker rights. During Trump life got worse, during Biden life got worse, even during Obama life got worse, and now they suggest which kind of “life will get worse” to choose. So as a poor I’d pick the option that’s closer to destroying the system altogether than the option that will just make me more miserable to choose another miserable option in 4 years.

That’s just false. First, nobody in the maillists claimed those specific people were working for sanctioned companies. Second, at least one of the banned maintainers, when advised to contact their company’s lawyers, said he isn’t working for any company at all, just freelancing and doing free work for the community.

Luckily Valve seems to believe in freedom of decision for their users so they won’t do this. There are kernel level cheats so there are kernel level anticheats. Obviously anticheats are mostly lame in what they do so it would probably be better for them to not be kernel level. Still there are “pure malware” anticheats and Valve thinks it’s up to the user to decide if they want one, their job is to inform the user. And that’s the best approach here in my opinion.

Those things you mention are caused by the society we have right now that clearly is not capable of long-term investment that is required for interstellar travel. So I think if we ever do interstellar travel we will be more kind to other life by that time.

Well Windows wasn’t an important Microsoft product for like 15 years now. It’s been like 7 years when Microsoft is a company mostly selling cloud Linux services.
