It’s great fun if you can get into it, it fulfills one of your basic needs in a much more fun and satisfying way, and it can be a good and attractive quality in a future partner and / or fun to do with them.

Could not unsee it once I did. I’m glad 35 other completely sane and rational people saw it as well.
Here’s the stats for mastodon.world and Lemmy.world

I mean my AirPods are fantastic. I think they’re great at playing my podcasts and I’ve not had any problems with random disconnects. Granted I’ve only ever used them with my phone but still.

We got out cheap at about $25… we had a smaller (100 person) wedding, went budget on the food, had a DJ, cake, etc. (basically just what the OP said), and we were still hand crafting stuff to reduce the cost. Shit is fucking expensive.
De-Googling was what got me started as well. Wanted to be able to have my own Google Drive clone with Nextcloud. From there it was just one little improvement / additional service at a time as I learned to use Linux and docker. Now I run a Linux laptop and am considering an android phone.
Engineering background for reference.
You could do a manual push mower! I’ve been looking to get one, I hear they’re much better for your lawn health and certainly help with getting a workout of it.
That may just be because the FTC has rules for when you can call, and it may have 9 AM because of where you live.

FWIW, the FTC says 8 AM is fine for calls, so presumably 8 AM is fine to start work on the weekends.
I’d recommend looking into Bazzite. Built on top of Fedora for rock solid stability and relatively up to date kernel (with all the latest drivers).
They’re shooting for the same stability and high level gaming experience as Steam Deck, but for any computer.
I use Bluefin because I’m less bothered by gaming, but it’s been absolutely fantastic with the stability and ability to run anything I’ve tried.
Similarly, nearly everything made by H-E-B / Central Market. Save for maybe one or two things where I’ve been disappointed, I like and even prefer their store brand for many things.
For… what???

I’m not sure why so many posts have titles cut off but it drives me nuts
As an engineer who is well off with a wife and a dog and a house, it was pretty much:
The best thing about engineering, as proved out by both my wife and myself, is that you can get just about any job even tangentially related to your degree so long as you have the right work ethic, strong enough people skills, and you can pick up whatever skills you need on the job.
If we ever got bored or didn’t like the company (which has happened to my wife twice now), you can just switch companies or in my case switch roles in the (multinational) company and be doing something entirely new until you find what really clicks, be that company or role or both.
Good point, that too, though that would presumably be harder to find exclusively through the app since I assume the linked articles are primarily about locations / landmarks
Well some Wikipedia articles could be construed as not appropriate for kids if you’re dead set on removing the app.
I’m thinking of things like Auschwitz or Hiroshima or the Twin Towers where content could be objectionable for children, but also that’s a terrible argument because it’s Wikipedia and it’s a fantastic educational resource.
This is definitely great news and refreshing to see from a company, but this came out two months ago.

Edit: it looks like Proton just recently sent an email about this to their ProtonMail subscribers which is likely why this got posted just now.
Except, prior to this announcement, there was apparently another statement from Anova that you can’t control the first gen ones.
the announcement follows an Anova statement saying it will no longer let users remotely control their kitchen gadgets via Bluetooth starting on September 28, 2025.
