  • I was kinda confused about who exactly Lauren Chen is in all this. I think you would classify her as a personality generally, but in the indictment she is referred to as founder 1 and her husband founder 2, they started tenet(?) and took money and messaging from the Russians. Lauren also hired producers to work at tenet and it looks like some of them were at least aware that they were peddling propaganda.

Non of the 6 personalities that were advertised on the tenet ticket were explicitly aware of who was paying tenet. They were just willfully ingorant and trying to grift.

I’ve heard some people speculate that Lauren Chen could already be arrested under a sealed indictment.

  • I’ve just spent the last 6 hours troubleshooting steam input on 3rd party flatpaks, also alacarte has a bug that doesn’t let you save property changes, also I can’t use vim as root anymore for some reason I don’t care to look into, also symlinking some of my media was a pain. Band-aid solutions have been found for the first 3 and the last was me being an idiot and not having a GUI solution to symlinks because Nautilus is arse compared to ms file explorer.

I fucking hate pop-os and flatpaks, cosmic launcher is a pile of junk, and my 4k monitor has created an infinite amount of scaling issues to work through.

Windows was a slow burn of minor inconvenience, Linux is a series of kicks in the nuts.

  • Yea I was probably too young to remember anything of the 90’s. Probably my earliest memory that feels like a part of my “kidhood” is being annoyed that 9/11 interrupted my morning cartoons. Even then I wouldn’t consider that part of my core childhood memories. But who knows, maybe there are people with vivid memories of themselves living their best life as a 5yo in 1999.

  • Affected users might have blamed Firefox for the issue. Some may even have switched to a Chromium-based browser, as these worked without any issue.

I’ve been having issues with YouTube on Firefox for ages, not these issues, different ones. I haven’t bothered to test if it’s only Firefox that has the problem because I’m not using Firefox for a seamless experience, I’m using because why the fuck would I use anything else on Linux? I won’t put google or ms into a Linux environment, even if I don’t really care about privacy or whatever, it just feels like mixing oil and water.

Might use another browser like brave or whatever foss solutions are out there, but I’d be surprised if anything like that is better than Firefox.
