I once had a girl in a bar tell me (after some flirting and kissing) that she was wearing white panties with pink hearts, to which I responded “That’s nice”.

He doesn’t get the power to shut down the internet. The internet is shut down wether he likes it or not. And this guy might post that he would love it, but let’s be honest, he craves the attention.

Big difference; the internet would be shut down for them too.
I try to keep the private data to a minimum where possible. I remove the apps I don’t use, and I disable those that can’t be removed. I also use NetGuard to limit internet acces for a lot of apps.
You can even vary within a dimension depending on the topic, for instance globalist on environmental topics but otherwise nationalist.
I would think that in that case it isn’t just a question of websites being blocked in your country, but more of the entire internet being censored. AFAIK only countries like China, Iran or Russia try to do this.
I’m Dutch, so we are tough about the Dutch golden age, which spans about the seventeenth century. Trade science and art were at a high point back then, but looking deeper it turns out the life expectancy for common people was lower than in the surrounding countries. The wealth was all concentrated in the Holland province(s), which explains why the Netherlands is commonly referred as Holland in other countries. Another thing was the schism between catholics and Calvinists, which meant Catholic cities didn’t benefit at all from the golden age. It also wasn’t benificial to the 1.7 million people who were enslaved by the Dutch.
So all in all, the Dutch golden age was very much golden for the merchants and aristocrats of cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Leiden or Haarlem, and for the protestant ministers. For the rest, of you didn’t live near these cities you probably were dirt poor.
These days I use TOR browser for these sites.

Festival organizing is obviously a lot of work, even for smaller festivals like we did (think a big tent with 1500 guests and a few artists and dj’s). Since most of the work is done beforehand, we usually had it quite chill on the festival days. So we always took our times, hung out backstage with the artists and always had a buffet going there. Most artists loved being with us, because usually they would just get an assigned dressing room and a stage time. We loved doing this, because we got to hang out with the artists. So, amateur tip; if you organize a festival, hire bar personnel for the festival day and have a good time.

Work: Chemical engineering, activated carbon (especially production), membrane filtration and high pressure boiler systems (shoutout @Chippys_mittens@lemmy.world).
Non-work: Moonshine making, Festival organizing (quit two years ago), plumbing, carpentry and general home improvement.

That’s what she said!
/I’ll see myself out…

No. I like it this way just fine.
The cellar would be 10-15 degrees in summer. Eggs could go there just as well, but I guess they were kept in the fridge for convenience since it was right next to the stove. The same for cheese.
I always turn on the light after shutting off the alarm, this way I won’t fall asleep again. I need to be reasonably well rested for this though, which I usually am. Also, don’t do this if your SO is sleeping next to you.
Omnivore, Netherlands. Forty years ago my parents had only one small fridge, so most of our food was kept in the cupboard or in the cellar. The fridge was for open containers or jars, some meat, eggs and margarine. Meat was deli meat for sandwiches, meat for dinner usually came from the freezer in the morning and was thawing on the counter all day. So I’m with you on this I guess.
Good luck seeing the game then. “No return ticket? That’s suspicious, you won’t be allowed to enter.”

Isn’t this just what AI is the greatest tool of all time for? At least, so I’m told by the AIvangelists.
One of the funniest things I saw when this was unfolding on youtube is that McNally works for Covert Instruments, AKA the Lockpicking Lawyer’s company. Proven Industries couldn’t have fucked up more if it was deliberate.
