Accidentally thwapped my phone. It now has a line of white pixels in the middle that came up some time after thwapping. Heard this can be cleared with a lighter flame to the bottom. Is this true?
God no. Don’t be stupid.
Obviously this won’t work.
But please try it anyway and report back.

No. But it can turn the white line into a black blot.
That sounds like the connection itself to that row somehow got fucked up. A flame probably isn’t going to fix that.
You can put a flame to a screen for a few seconds and they are usually fine. But really, you should be looking into a screen repair or a new/used phone.
Just get a new screen kit online. For most phones, they’re fairly reasonably priced. (But not Pixel, not even a 5 from 2020).
Try putting it in the microwave.
I heard the latest update makes it microwave-proof
No. If you’re lucky, you could take the phone apart and reconnect the ribbon connector that goes from the display to the board and it will be fixed. More likely the display is damaged and would need replaced. No chance a lighter will fix it.

probably from “a tiktok”
Dunno, but I heard some were that you can fix your phone by microwaving it.
This recharges the bars, too!
(/s, if it was t obvious. Don’t microwave yer phone.)
If you try , make sure you film it.
This is the kind of equipment you need to fix your problem.
A lighter does not have the precision to do it unless you are insanely lucky.
Sounds like trial and error, and you have possibly one attempt.

You could try using some steel wool
I doubt it. Maybe, but the chances of damaging it further are much higher.
Maybe the heat could temporarily do something, but other than that this just sounds stupid. Especially with strong heat source like a flame.
Thwapped
Wut?
I spent solid 10min writing an useful answer and then looked up. Now I want my 10mins back.
hint
Just wipe the screen clear from the goo, dummy.
If pressure from your fingers doesn’t fix it, a lighter won’t either. You’ll need a heat gun to remove the screen to fix it anyways, so you’ll find out what heat does to the edges (where these faults occur) regardless.
