Do people in France have flags on their cars? Do they sell clothing with the flag for Zimbabwe everywhere? Do people dress as their country’s mascot for every day events?

See, this is exactly what I’m talking about. It is not that hard to go from yards to inches. Hell, even converting between metric and standard isn’t hard. Hell, the software you use most likely does it for you. And you are so aggressive about it, it’s ridiculous. "Oh woe is me, I have to divide by 12 instead of 10! I need to kick someone in the balls because god forbid I divide by 36. "

No, I need to kick balls because I need to buy multiple sets of tools instead of one, and if you’re integrating systems, and another engineer didn’t read the unit requirements, shit doesn’t work and we have to stop and troubleshoot. Check the other conversions. If I asked you how many feet in a mile or slugs in gravity, can you tell me off the top of your head? Nobody wants to stop and look up crap to get stuff done. What is 12C in F? Who the fuck knows. Do I need a sweater on my trip? Let me go back and find my phone to see. Oh shit it’s not charged. Let me open my laptop because some fuckass with balls intact decided to troll everyone with arbitrary bullshit.

Except you have to memorize all of those conversions one by one instead of just remembering 1=1000 because imperial was invented by a drunk mathematician rolling dice.

This comment is an old conservative rant.

“Liberals get angry and tell us that the metric system is more “rational” than the measurements everyone understands. This is ridiculous. An inch is the width of a man’s thumb, a foot the length of his foot, a yard the length of his belt. That’s easy to visualize. How do you visualize 147.2 centimeters?”
