Is that one of those incelmemes ppl talk about?

Srsly though, I find any meme that puts a whole gender/generation/ethnicity in one spot awfully stupid…

Personally I would give this one a pass for the self deprecating humor. Also the meme in a meme with the miss identified icon. But I would most of them are normally just horribly bigoted.

Funny that the pride flag is on the left when the most impressive Linux devs I’ve ever met all did their best work while caged and plugged in thigh highs but… Whatever

I mean, most impressive devs might be a stretch, but if you hang out at any alternative hacker / Linux event… Let’s say I have felt like the most conservative and straight dude in the room on more than one occasion

To be fair, “that I ever met” is doing some lifting there. Kinky trans&nb programmers are a minority of a minority of a minority. But a few of the best programmers I’ve met over my years while doing low-level C and C++ systems work just happened to be in that demographic… And wow: they were REALLY good at what they did. One was the kind of person who earned the right to wear a clip-on fluffy tail to the office, and no one would talk shit about. Different times, different places, but they were all the kind of people who would make competent management sweat about the low bus factor.

The company I keep tends to be quite private, but there’s no shortage of “it” pronouned puppygirls doing significant work in Linux spaces; god bless them. Nix has a lot for some reason… Also cybersec communities.

Ok, I suppose I misunderstood your comment. I thought it was about the actual lead kernel developers and not all Linux-related devs in general and thought to myself “Well, Torvalds is a married man and most other maintainers I’ve ever seen didn’t look that out of the ordinary”.

Again, not to take away anything from anybody, but maybe that explains my surprise to that comment.

I don’t even think whoever made this uses linux; Linux is by far the gayest OS

I remember using some rust tui program a lot to get an annoying thing to work like connect to my uni’s propreitery vpn tho might have been something different.

That thing worked even on freebsd. It was very well done too just worked out the box and didn’t use much memory and so on. Simply reliable code.

So I looked at the github repo to see who made it and it was 20 people with lgbtq flag or anime or both as their pfp.

All the girls want to talk about gay, but I just want to talk about postgres! There is nothing better than postgres, and database management systems are a great way to break the ice on the first date. But women just don’t understand it!!! All they want to talk about is gay, saying things like “you seem really nice but you’re crying in my arms at 3am telling me of your lifelong desire to date a man who would understand postgres, I’ll support you no matter what but have you considered that you may not be entirely straight?” Silly women!

I think a conversation about Hannah Montana Linux could be quite entertaining.

Is the joke not self aware? I think it’s making fun of the guy for only being able to have tech related conversations.

Like obviously it’s not Giggachad to only be able to talk about Linux.

Nah, the guy on the right is clearly the one the viewer is supposed to relate to to feel better about themselves and to feel smart.
