Subramanyam Vedam, 64, was recently exonerated for murder after being sentenced to life in prison in 1983

A Pennsylvania man who was recently exonerated after spending more than four decades behind bars has now been taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) and faces possible deportation to India.

Earlier this month, Centre county’s district attorney dismissed murder charges against 64-year-old Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam. However, shortly after his exoneration, Vedam was detained by ICE based on a 1988 deportation order tied to his now-vacated convictions.

This is such media propaganda. Drug dealers are criminals but that doesn’t mean they just do all criminal things. Most drug dealers are not thieves or scammers as that would hurt their business.

Do you believe it’s fine for you to decide who gets to “live with drugs”? If the state says it’s okay to “live with drugs”, do you believe that you should be able to supersede the mandate of the state?

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but a lot of the world’s major cities and economies would grind to a halt if you magically removed cocaine and speed from the planet. Hallucinagens have aided in scientific discovery by helping people make connections they would never otherwise think of, not to mention the benefits of microdosing for mental health reasons. Do you believe art and music benefit society? Well, I guarantee your favourite artists have likely used “illegal” inspiration.

Does marijuana benefit some states but not others due to varying legality? Do legal drugs necessarily benefit society? What is the societal benefit of alcohol, or nicotine?

Whether a drug is legal or illegal is largely due to political posturing and nothing to do with societal or health benefits. And before you think I’m pro legalising everything, I believe highly addictive and debilitating drugs are the ones that should illegal or at least controlled. Ice, heroine, and (currently legal) opioid-based pain killers to name a few.

Na bs. Are you seriously arguing that society need his individual to take substance that damage their health to make profit is a good argument ? That artist being on drug is a gift to society ? The famous LSD help researcher 🤣🤣🤣

          Solar-system-wide, picometer-deep reasoning there, ace.

Also, “mamoth” is spelled with 3 m’s (“mammoth”).

To start, a state of altered consciousness to help consider different viewpoints when reflecting about the choices one has made in life and the how that affects the constitution of one’s personality.

One can alter their consciousness or perception thereof. That doesn’t release them from their responsibilities.

                  You’re flailing.

Crack is not the only “drug” in the world.

And by the way, if we’re going to make drugs illegal in the way you want it, let’s start with alcohol and nicotine, the worst of them all.

That’s been tried before, by the way. It didn’t go very well.

“Live with drugs”? Wtf are you even talking about?

Do you have any idea how many prescription drugs the average law-abiding American is on? Or how much worse for both the individual and society at large some common ones are than illegal ones?

You’re clearly speaking from prejudice and gaslighting rather than knowledge and wisdom.

We should string up the billionaire families that created and profited from the opiate epidemic, we agree on this.

How about the legal drugs pushed by our cooperate overlords Johnson and Johnson that caused the opiod epidemic. Not everyone thinks whatever ever religion you belong to is theirs.

Since some corpo cheated the system to sell bad drugs we should totally allow criminals to sell drugs without restriction. Very smart

Some people like drugs. So don’t force you beliefs on others. We have drug criminals because there is a demand. I don’t use any type of so called bad drugs, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna shit on someone else’s parade. Fuck, weed is illegal because some black people smoked it in the jazz clubs back in the days and white dudes were upset their daughters like the jazz clubs. To each their own. What about not threading on others? Is it only okay when the laws don’t apply to your choices?

Hey, if two consenting adults wanna keep it in the family that’s alllllright Kinda like the royal family. That’s a similar argument some people have against the LGBT community, next thing they’ll be having sex with dogs. 🤦
