Are you my brother in law? And or my ex-husband? Why are chores so hard to do, its just dishes and trash and cleaning up after yourself when you make a mess or leave a space. I sit and play video games and TV but still do the bare minimum to keep my house mess free. I even shovel when it snows :O
Edit: I think it’s funny this a hot take. Here’s my F for respects and I hope your homes are clean
It’s not that it’s a hot take, it’s that you’re coming off very insensitive, in a post about how the current status of things grinds people down to the point where simple chores feel like a huge burden.
Well my brother in law has no job and can’t lift a finger to help out the household. He watches other people have fun and play board games on Dropout (formerly College Humor) and plays video games instead of literally doing anything else. And my sister is burnt out and hoards empty cardboard boxes and can’t clean after herself. I work as a dishwasher and I come home and clean more. And we are all in therapy…
I appreciate everything you’re saying. And at the same time I get why so many people are just burnt out. I can’t get there myself, obviously you can’t either. I won’t let my life go to shit no matter how burnt out I am, I’ll control the things in it that I can, and just eat the rest of it, I guess. I feel like sometimes all I got is the dishes, clean counters, that sort of thing, and if I let that go, I’m letting go.

I’m sorry you’re in that situation, and I hope the therapy helps.
