I love 3D Platformers, but Steam does not seem to have many good recommendations for that tag (lots of non-3D platformers in the mix for some reason). Maybe there just aren’t that many out there. What can you recommend?

Here are some that I have already played and want more similar to these:

-Cavern of Dreams

-Castle on the Coast

-A Hat in Time

-Demon Turf

-Frogun

-Sapo 3D

-New Super Lucky’s Tale

-Yooka Laylee

-Toree series

-Pseudoregalia

Surprised I haven’t seen Hell Pie here yet. Pretty solid physics and fun mechanics. The humor is a bit crude and sometimes kinda edge-lord l, but the game play is solid.

Ruffy and the Riverside. Really interesting concept with editing terrain and your environment.

Gex Trilogy is pretty good if you’re into old-school platformers. It aged better than I thought.

Megabonk is basically 3D vampire survivors, and that rules.

Psychonauts is really good and currently less than 2 bucks. There’s also a sequel, currently about 9 bucks. (Both in €)

I second this. I recently replayed the first game and then the sequel back to back and it was one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

They were both such a joy to play.

Lunistice is quite fun. It’s not groundbreaking but I enjoyed my play through of it. It’s not overly long either which is a positive to me.

The Portal games are fun puzzle FPS platformers with a great story, though there’s a good chance you’ve already played those and didn’t consider them platformers.

Another FPS platformer is Roboquest. It’s a roguelite shooter. Very fast pace and stressful but fun if you’re into that kind of thing.

I also want to second Psychonauts. I haven’t played #2 yet but the first game had a unique and interesting story with fun gameplay.

I’ve heard A Short Hike is a relaxing game. More about exploration than meeting game objectives but could be a nice break when you’re stressed. Basically the opposite of Roboquest haha

If you liked Pseudoregalia, get Corn Kidz 64!

It’s another N64-style 3D platformer released in 2023 with a goat protagonist trapped in a dream. This is an oddly narrow coincidence.

Neon White, Cyberhook, and Crumble are all excellent, though you might be looking for a more traditional platformer.

Blue Fire is decent and definitely worth checking out while it’s $4 right now.

I’ve heard good things about, but not myself played, Penny’s Big Breakaway, might be worth looking into, it’s got a demo on steam. I think it’s the game closest to your list I’m aware of. In terms of slightly different 3D platformers that MAY be to your taste: Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a step away from the others in your list in terms of movement styles, as a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, but is a proper 3D platformer, and the music is really good. Exploring each new area is the primary gameplay loop, with some limited combat that isn’t really the focus. Mirror’s Edge is a first person platformer with focus on going fast. The movement is surprisingly good for a first person game, and I’ve enjoyed going back and running time trials, as every level has a ton of very non obvious alternate routes that involve taking advantage of all your movement options (ie: wall jumping in a space you may not have realized was even an option, rather than going up stairs) Neon White is probably the furthest from what you’re looking for, but is one I’m a big fan of. Another first person platformer with short, timed stages, and ratings at the end. Killing enemies gives cards that can be used for attacks or movement. The dialogue is all extremely cringe (and deliberately so)

Lunistice is really good indie 3D platformer. I just wish there was more of it.

Sure it does: Portal, Ratchet and Clank, Psychonauts, Drake’s Fortune, Qube, Beton Brutal, Sonic Generations, Neon White, Mirror’s Edge, Tomb Raider, Grimhook, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Little Big Planet, Fotonica, Alice, Fallstruktur, Try Again

This is by no means comprehensive, but if you’re looking for 3D platformers, the above games/series are worth a look!
