State? They would willing be leaving Canada (with a lot less of AB than they think they could take). The US would have all the advantage and it wouldn’t be granting statehood. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up with less rights than Puerto Rico. They’d have to go that route though since they couldn’t pull off being a separate country.

If Puerto Rico or DC were 60% white they’d have been states before Regan left office. Canada is* whiter than the USA, so they’d be granted statehood faster than Trump can lie.
Last time I looked at this, since I have some dumb family members who think the majority of Canadians want to join the states, it’s like a few k people total across Canada…and yes all of them are maga following idiots. No real majority in Canada wants to join or break away from Canada.
