I’ll post the answer tomorrow.

A trust exercise to see if you’ll respect no belly rubs when they trust you enough to expose it.

Aka a trap because who doesn’t love giving belly rubs.

Could just be chilling. Both of my girls get pointy when they relax, usually into my leg.

That is a business face though. My bet is you will be attacked but playfully, no mauling.

My cat does this, and it’s a trap unless it’s footpets.

I don’t know why, but she’ll swipe and cry if she doesn’t get her footpets.

Does this mean she wants her feet petted or she wants to be petted with your foot?

Mine seems to think that my feet sweat the elixir of the gods and gets mad if I greet her without removing my shoes and socks. She has a particular glare for when she goes to lick my foot and there is a sock on it.

Sorry, pet by my foot. I run my foot along her belly and she melts.

The smell might be having an affect here as well haha.

Is that a female cat? If so tummy rub is good IF she’s had kittens. Beyond that, total trap!

Cats don’t generally like a tummy rub otherwise, at least in my experience. And if not a mama cat better get ready for some blood! (And I’m not saying mama cats are safe either - vicious creatures!)

That’s a fair point. There aren’t any rules with cats. That was just my experience and in case it matters all my cats were rescues. Perhaps for a reason! But I feel bad now with the downvotes and should add they all have good lives but each has a very different personality to deal with.

I’m sorry you were downvoted, your experience is as valid as anyone else’s. I think it just means the downvoting people have cats who enjoy bellyrubs, which is actually kind of nice to think about. Great to hear from another cat person and rescue adopter!

Thanks, you made me feel better! And it’s nice to know some cats enjoy belly rubs and won’t tear you apart for it.

I worked with big cats for a bit so maybe I’m just cautious but I’ve spilled blood too many times for touching the belly. Only rescue I took in that was a skeleton yet somehow pregnant likes it. I gave her kittens good homes after they were old enough to be fixed and in one case a 18hrr drive.

As much as the last rescue would like to come in he stays outside but has the garage. It’s on purpose because I’m a sucker and can’t save them all and he defends the territory. He vanished for 6 weeks and showed back up with a clipped ear and no “package”. City thing I guess but 6 weeks? I wish i could hear that story. Sorry for the unrequested story but he deserves to be logged in internet history. His name is Vibe.

Oh, you do have very interesting and varied cat experiences! Is there any chance of a Vibe cat-tax? It would be nice to support his internet log with a picture :)

I don’t know how to add a pic here which is too bad as he was a super cute kitten. He turned into an ugly cat but I don’t hold it against him.

                Attempt:

                Sorry, still learning this platform.
