      States with larger cattle populations than human populations include: South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Kansas, Montana, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Iowa. The state with the highest ratio is South Dakota (about 4 to 1) while Wyoming is third (about 2.5 to 1).
