The United States is getting slammed by a stretch of weather extremes, from flooding rain to record heat and late-season snow.

Good. Everything is deserved. This is what we get for letting uneducated people vote and lead countries who in turn underfund education and perpetuate the problem. We absolutely live in Idiocracy.

    As Tool once said:

‘Cause mom’s gonna fix it all soon. Mom’s comin’ 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

And the giant multibillion dollar corporations that feed them fake bullshit.

Remember when trump said there were legal post birth abortions? The media shrugged it off despite the millions of hours of coverage of joe biden being old.

Remember when the first tranche of epstein files were released and it was alleged trump was on a boat where an infant was killed?

Messing with the jet stream is terrifying.

means you get a lot of extremes next to each other,” Maue said. Storm fronts coming from the Pacific hit that high pressure heat dome in the Southwest and are pushed north to climb that mountainous jet stream peak, “grab access to that cold air reservoir up there” and bring it back down south down the other side of the hill, he said.

Numerous studies have connected unusual jet stream and polar vortex activity to shrinking Arctic sea ice and human-caused climate change.

The article doesn’t talk about impact on this year’s crops, but I can’t imagine this is good for agriculture.

It’s wild. I complained to a friend the other day. I said “This winter has been weird. Maybe that whole thing about global warming was right”

    The dude was incredulous.

“I don’t know about that” he said. And then dropped an entire ten minutes of absolute nonsense defending why climate change is fake.

Like, mother fucker this has been established for decades at this point and you have seen what’s been happening! To say it’s widely accepted is an absolute understatement!

The blind eye folks are are willing to turn is insane at this point. My comment was just a lead in to gauge what the current response is.

I think we are absolutely fucked.

You see, the jet stream used to be a mostly horizontal line.

But now, the jet stream is more… “Jeremy Bearimy”.

I mean, the US is geographically huge, even just the continental US. You’re bound to get all these and more on a spring day across the whole country.

You do but usually not this many at once and especially not after breaking so many record high temps in the last year.

Which is why all of these events are “once in a hundred year” occurrences all happening at the same time and for not the first time this year, let alone the past 5.

It’s a big place. Lots of opportunity for different weather patterns.

America’s size will be Schrodinger’s Cat in various arguments. If it’s about climate change - we’re yooooge. If it’s about migration, well, the country is a tiny little place, and it’s full, sorry. At least if it’s about brown people.

          Trains? Sowwy cant. No munnies.

Billions in oil subsidies? Sure we have extra.

Ridiculous roads with 8 lanes? Yes pls.

Car manufacturer subsidies, insane import export restrictions and insane parking requirements for cars that increase housing costs by 10%-50%? Yup.

It really boils me that the only laws that are enforced on rich people are car import restrictions.
