Uhm, they were trying to arrest him at the international terminal? International terminals are Sterile Zones, where departing passengers have formally exited the country. That’s pretty much like ICE arresting someone while they’re physically in Mexico.
It’s hard to tell, the article is poorly written. There’s something about an Australian guy getting arrested at LAX, not sure if that’s related to what happened in LV or not.
At any rate, it’s kinda stupid to arrest someone at an airport even before they’ve gone through security. They’re likely leaving the country and will have to present themselves to a customs official anyway. Instead of wasting money on prosecuting someone that overstayed, it’s better just to let them leave, maybe charge them a fine or whatever.
It’s just cruelty for the sake of cruelty.
It’s just cruelty for the sake of cruelty.
Cruelty is the point.
Unless we all band together and start pushing back and defend ourselves we will all be on the ground cuffed or have a bullet hole in our heads.
One video posted on social media showed a man yelling and crying on the ground in Terminal 3 at Harry Reid International Airport on Monday when a man and a masked woman, both in plainclothes, tried to control, handcuff and detain him. When the pair realized they were being filmed, they walked away, leaving the man with a handcuff attached to one arm.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police found no outstanding warrants for the man, removed his handcuffs and notified ICE.
They know what they’re doing is illegal, and accountability terrifies them.
Is there some reason to assume these were even actual ICE agents? That pair should have been detained/arrested pending a determination of their identities and evidence that they have the legal authority to assault and detain anyone. This could very well have been an attempted kidnapping disguised as an ICE attack. If the fucking cops don’t detain them, we’ll never actually know.
The only indication that they are ICE agents is the evident fact that they are completely untrained, incompetent, and totally unsuited to any kind of law enforcement employment.
I mean depending on who was actually being attacked it could have been US, Turkish, Israeli, or Saudi intelligence pretending to be ICE agents.
The article says this happened in one of the terminals, meaning past the TSA checkpoints. No way imposters would have made it through TSA screening with badges, handcuffs, and likely other unnecessary tactical gear. TSA had to explicitly let them through.
None of what you listed is on the tsa prohibited item list.
The video showed that they tried to rob him too
They arrested this guy in LA when the plane landed and once again FUCK ICE.
ICE arrested him at his flight departing the Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday
Is there more news about an incoming connection?
I read that as leaving US already, but realize now it was vague.
Aye, and fuck their LVMP collaborators

… ICE arrested him at his flight departing the Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security said.
[bolding added]
We can fully expect that this poor dude is going to be singled out for especially abusive treatment when he gets to detention because these ICE twats made a scene by being fuckups here and they’ve all got fragile abuser egos, and the local cops served him up on a silver platter for it
So what I’m hearing is, concerned citizens should go to airports and keep a look out for groups of three people where two look like cops and one looks scared, then draw attention to them. If ICE lets them go and it’s a departing flight, inform other passengers and post to local news and social media platforms in the arrival city so people can accompany them to the gate and others can meet them there and escort them through baggage claims and to their destination (or, you know, advise them not to fly).
Edit: given that this was a connecting flight, his fellow passengers could accompany him to his next gate and inform his future co-passengers, and that arrival city (if still in the US or a country likely to extradite to ICE), ad infinitum, if needed
He was in the country illegally. Do you just not want laws enforced?
Phu Nguyen, a 57-year-old citizen of Australia who overstayed his visa.
Laws like human rights, right of due process, right to not be attacked by unidentified masked thugs, right to not be attacked with unjustified force …. It’s clear who is committing the more serious crimes here: the end does not justify the means
The due process is for them to leave the country after their visa has ended. The due process is for them to be deported if they don’t. The aren’t owed a trial, their right to be in the country has legally and factually ended.
Yea I want laws like “cops must identify themselves” enforced. And laws like “the president can’t rape children.” Let’s start there.
TDS confirmed.
It’s deranged to think rape should have consequences?
No, but you’re saying Trump has raped children.
You are a pedophile
You seem like someone who is a collaborator.
Enforcement of immigration is a CIVIL issue. It’s not a crime.
ICE was formed after 9/11. We functioned perfectly fine without them.
They are a fascist organization without accountability that for its entire history has attacked and kidnapped people without reason.
Overstaying your visa is unlawful presence. It’s grounds for deportation.
Don’t engage with this user who uses “TDS” unironically
Personally, I don’t give a fuck. Borders just prove that the state will cause violence against the individual.
However for the sake of argument and how the US should (and used to) do this:
- Identify yourself as border agents, and ask them to identify themselves. Normally you cant do that but its probable cause if you know who they are.
- identify the issue: you have over stayed your welcome
- provide the remedy: tell them they must demonstrate that they have a ticket or passage to any other country and release them to do so, or if they have a criminal charge or record, escort them to the terminal with a ticket they pay for, or the state provides a ticket and send them home.
how hard is this?
What does any of that have to do with them arresting him when he landed in LA?
Laws that are bullshit and that breaking them doesn’t harm anyone? Yeah I don’t want those enforced. You’re right.
People staying in a country illegally harms people. It harms the person who misses out on a job because of them. It harms the economy by them not paying taxes and getting paid below minimum wage and/or in cash. It harms services that are used by an extra person who shouldn’t be there.
Get the fuck out of here, fascist scum.
You don’t actually care about this, you just care about licking trumps boots clean.
You know how everyone knows this? There is a very simple fix for all of this. Put it on the employers. Make it a crime to hire people without authorization to work here.
But, this is never done because those people, the people taking advantage of undocumented immigrants, are also the same people supporting trump.
It is illegal already……
You know why businesses aren’t getting caught for it? Because of people like you who think “no one is illegal” and don’t want illegal immigrants to lose their jobs and be deported.
Well that’s all bullshit and not how an economy works sooooo… Yeah.
Oh they’re not getting paid enough but someone wants their job. They also pay taxes. If it’s harmful to the economy then they should not be paid below minimum wage in cash - that’s not the person’s fault that has the job, that’s the fault of the employer.
I’m all for dignified work and good wages. Acting like individuals just magically don’t participate in a local economy because they’re underpaid immigrants is silly.
They’re getting paid illegal rates because they’re illegally in the country and are hardly going to risk deportation to dob their employer in. If they didn’t work for illegally low rates, the employer would have to pay a citizen the minimum wage.
If they didn’t work for illegally low rates, the employer would have to pay a citizen the minimum wage.
Well, I promise they’d work for at least minimum wage (which in and of itself is not enough) if the employer paid them that. You’re acting like it’s the victim’s fault here when they’re being taken advantage of by a corrupt system.
They’re not being taken advantage of, they’re not supposed to be in the country working.
As if ICE can be trusted to be lawful, let alone good.
Disgusting. Any reasonable person being attacked like this would fight back, and then they’d shoot them. The U.S. is done. No sane person should come here, and I need to get my shit together and get the hell out.
This. I cannot imagine what’s going on in the heads of people still visiting that cesspool. I’m a white dude with no record and could theoretically visit. I’d live in California, even. The problem is these damned morals and ethics that stop me from bringing myself and my money to a place that doesn’t value or respect humanity at all anymore. Not above profits and racism, anyway.
Godspeed, Americans. If you ever decide to rise up, I’d join in. I think much of the world would.
was he “escorted to the ground” too?
Is this the one where the people obviously aren’t ICE, and just some chuds wearing masks while robbing people?
That’d be crazy work to do in an airport regardless of who’s pres
A random robber would be less likely to kill someone out of malice.
