Not it.
Oh we realize. We are waiting. Poised for the moment you least expect to strike and pass on the dreaded curse of it.
Any day now.
Brother you need to pass on the curse? I know a guy who will take it from you, no questions asked. Very minimal fee.
You rang?
Sounds like something that would happen in an Adam Sandler movie.
He’s walking down the street in NYC, and some guy runs up behind him and slaps him on the back, yells, “You’re it!” and runs off.
“oh shit! I think that was Davey Roberts! We used to hang out on the playground back at PS 119 back when we were kids. I wonder what the hell that was about…”
Cut to Facebook search for Davey roberts
cut to messenger live conversation
“Davey!! Long time no see buddy! How you been?!”
…
“your it” (misspelled, no punctuation)
Sandlers character gets a notification indicating he’s been invited to a Facebook group
sees group name
“PS 119 Tag Never Ended”

Give this premise to Musk and he’ll swear his AI can make it a movie in a week!
I mean, it’s not impossible for xitter’s pedobot to make movies I hear (which is how it earned its name). If you gave me and my old film studio enough cocaine we could script, storyboard, and splice the clips together in about a week. It would not be pretty or up to my [this gets shown to anyone ever] standards for my work, but it could be done.
The only dude at the studio who liked cocaine was the executive producer, and we closed the studio in 2005. We’d realistically need different stimulants or more time
Not Adam Sandler, but… https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/d40f0431-daf1-4e13-b03b-95b8b4be860e.jpeg
Actually a pretty good movie
Jeremy Renner broke his leg in this film and it hampered some of the stunts he was meant to do towards the end of the film. If you keep an eye out for it you can see when his leg gets thicker, to cover up the boot
And the tags get exponentially more forceful as they chase each other down the street, through the park, across a university campus, over the basketball course, until it devolves into a full-on fistfight in the girls locker room ending with Adam Sandler delivering an overly dramatic tearful confession about how he actually cheated at tag that time in school because he was jealous that his friend spent more time with cute Amy, because he missed his friend so much. That means his friend was actually the one who was “it”, so they chase each other again.
I had the cheese touch for 17 years.
If you sacrifice a witch to the archangel Michael and smear her blood upon you the it will be purified. -Corenthians 69:420.
Can confirm this works! Now, unfortunately Bubba makes me “it” every night after lights out.
It’s probably me. I never was fast enough for tag. I was great at hide and seek though.
This is kind of like the movie Tag.
Nah. Being It always ended when the game ended and a new It was picked at the start of the next game whenever that was.
You keep telling yourself that. It.
I’m totally it
Yeah well any of you guys who haven’t thought about The Game in awhile, you just lost
The turtle won’t help.
What about the turtle underneath that turtle
Did… Did they lose the game?
I was very slow as a kid due to juvenile arthritis. Thankfully, I outgrew it, but I can almost guarantee I am still it. This is such a whimsical and delightful thought. Thank you for the smile today stranger. I definitely needed it.
There’s an entire movie dedicated to this idea. Called Tag.
I lost the game.
Due to certain legal contracts and ancient rituals, all “Its” revert to a single person after not tagging for 25 minutes.
That person?
Tom Hanks.
