I don’t have a strong opinion on this, since I’m so detached from the whole thing. Isn’t that literally the point? If sex work is banned, then people who worked in that industry can’t keep making a living in that industry. So?
Equivalent to “gun shop workers can’t make a living anymore after firearms ban”. No shit.
Not legally, no. And if the government/police starts really cracking down on cocaine dealers, would you feel bad for the ‘honest, hard-working’ drug dealers who just can’t make a living in this industry anymore?

Why shouldn’t sex workers be able to make a living in that industry?
That isn’t the issue with this or the debate. The issue is that there is a ban at all.
I agree, and congrats on being the only person to read my comment correctly!
I wrote that in reply to the OP text.
Sex work will always happen, the only thing making it illegal accomplishes is making sex work much more dangerous for the worker.
Much more dangerous for everyone involved probably
Sex work is still legal in the UK.
This is like the government banning “topless nudity” and waking up to find a site has deleted any pictures showing exposed shoulders.
My fault for not reading past the headline… But also, the way it’s written kind of sounds like the way I interpreted it, doesn’t it?
Why should it be banned? Has the legalistic approach to this ever worked anyway?
Can you shoot up a school with a porn video?
Only one way to find out!
Edit: no, you can’t, but you still get arrested
Cocaine is banned, so nobody makes a living in that industry, right?
All drugs should be legal and regulated.

Yes
