In supporting a 16-week ban with exceptions, Donald Trump appears to be trying to satisfy social conservatives who want to further restrict abortion access and voters who want more modest limits.

I wouldn’t bat an eye if he privately favored a 1-week abortion or whatever.

His line will become the party line. Or this will be another compromise he pushes to get elected then reneges on, like his Healthcare plan that is still 2 weeks away.

If he “privately expresses” an opinion, why then must we be bludgeoned by it? Can’t wait till I no longer need to know or care anything about #45.

Because it gives us as good an idea as anything can what kinds of policies he’d enact in office and another reason to stop him from getting there

On the upside, if this doesn’t weigh high in his mind, he’ll probably make it low priority, which is good I think.
