Plot twist: they now get Ukrainian actor to act as russian spy.
Really any eastern european will work. It’s not like we americans usually know what foreign language is being spoken.
Yeah, really. Peter Stormare has been playing Russian villains for decades and he’s Swedish.

Excuse me say what?
Always cracks me up how Swedes are cast as Russians. Guess they convincingly do that stereotypical “Russian voice”
Any European really, Sean Connery might be dead but his memory lives on.
European?
I thought he was Egyptian.
True, the clue is the samurai sword.
The supposedly russian bad guys are mostly not actually russian. Mostly they are some variety of native Germanic speaking actors. If the casting department is going for authenticity, it may be someone speaking the wrong branch of Slavic.
As if Hollywood hasn’t been completely monopolized and enshittified to the point that they no longer seem capable of making anything worth watching.
Fuck David Zaslav for leading the enshittification charge in this particular economic sector, by the way. Plastic faced, greedy ass, anti-union, anti-creative fancy lad ghoul.
As if Russian actors will get the parts.
