This is the same US government that’s currently complaining it’s too difficult to do business in Quebec (a province of a country the US is threatening to invade) because native French speakers insist on speaking French. The US is demanding they use English.
I’ve also missed this. The narcissism of American leaders has no bounds.
It’s about Quebec’s Bill 96, which requires companies of a certain size to do business in French (so documents and communications must be available in French), and also requires French labeling on products (with parallel English labeling optional). The USA complains that this is too onerous. But Quebec is a French-speaking province, so it’s like complaining that France expects you to do business in French.

Huh, it’s almost like EU powers have seen the problem with having an unpredictable outsider control thier means of defense.

I’m not gonna pretend I know about classified military research, but the F-35 is supposedly top of the line. Do they even have the tech to make a more advanced fighter right now? Probably not, which means they’ll say they have to spend more developing it all.
What Trump doesn’t get, is even if the next president is a republican, they probably aren’t gonna be interested in spending billions on expanding Trump’s legacy, when they can cancel it and make themselves look like a responsible budget manager.
