I can never know if someone is supposed to be dead or not. Okay so the protagonists beat a bunch of the anatagonist’s goons in battle, did you kill them? Or did they become unconcious?
It’s literally never explained.
That’s the unwritten rule. Unless you see an obvious corpse, they’re still alive, no matter what happened.
I think it’s humorous how much media acts like blunt force trauma doesn’t happen.
Batman has likely killed hundreds from internal bleeding.
Knocking someone in the head is apparantly equivalent to anesthesia in the media
I think oftentimes the point is that it’s ambiguous.
Schrodinger’s Moral Event Horizon
“Did Jet just die?”
“You know, it was really unclear”
As iconic as that line is, it’s always confused me. It was super obvious to me that he was dead/dying in that scene
What movie is that from?
It’s from Avatar: The Last Air Bender

A-Team were mass murderers
If they don’t move for a good minute its safe to say they are dead. Most knockouts don’t last long without atleast brain damage
Oh well, the protagonists hit the goons in the head, then spent 10 minutes hacking into the systems, I guess they are all dead.
But don’t worry tho, the actual mastermind will always get spared. 🙃
Watching fights in mma, someone who is knocked out usually doesn’t look dead.

When Andy walks into the room, are the toys unconscious or dead?
Yes.
Counterpoint: Watch more violent movies.
If someone gets decapitated or fed through a wood chipper then you know for sure they’re dead and not unconscious.

“How is he even walking right now, Tuck?”
“He looks like he’s gonna walk it off, he’s gonna be fine!”
