An email in the Jeffrey Epstein files that references U.S. President Donald Trump “blowing Bubba” has attracted scrutiny on social media.

On Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers released more than 20,000 pages of documents connected to Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking charges.

Some of the documents mentioned Trump, including one from Epstein’s brother, Mark, which references photos of Trump “blowing Bubba.” “Bubba” is a nickname of former president Bill Clinton, but Mark Epstein told Newsweek the individual was not Clinton. He did not provide any additional details about the identity of “Bubba” or the meaning of the emails.

Newsweek reached out to the White House by email to comment on this story outside of normal business hours.

Files related to Epstein continue to cause problems for the Trump administration, as bipartisan groups have called for greater transparency in the case and the further publication of documents and evidence in the government’s possession.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and has said their friendship ended in the early 2000s. But the recent release of thousands of documents has brought fresh scrutiny to the president’s relationship with Epstein.

In an email sent in March 2018, Mark Epstein told Jeffrey Epstein to ask Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, if Russian President Vladimir Putin has “the photos of Trump blowing Bubba.”

“You and your boy Donnie can make a remake of the movie Get Hard,” Mark Epstein wrote.

Newsweek also reached out to Bannon and the Kremlin by email to comment on this story outside of normal business hours.

Posts on social media about the email have since gone viral, with people questioning what the email means.

One user wrote: “Who is Bubba, and why did Trump blow him?”

Call to Activism, an account with over 1.1 million followers, wrote: “WTF: In one of the leaked emails, Mark Epstein, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother suggests to ask Steve Bannon if Putin has ‘the photo of Trump blowing Bubba,’ to which Epstein replied, ‘and I thought- I had tsuris,’ which is Yiddish for troubles.”

Trump is also referenced in other documents, including in emails between Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell in which Epstein called Trump “that dog that hasn’t barked.” In an email to author Michael Wolff, Epstein said Trump “knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee later released additional emails said to show Epstein’s correspondence with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

It’s right there in the post. Apparently Mark Epstein said it wasn’t Clinton and didn’t elaborate.

I get that dude probably fears for his life but come on. What a coward.

If we take this at face value, then other comments I’ve heard about Ghislaine Maxwell’s horse being named Bubba make this so fucking hillarious.

Trump and a horse walk into a bar.

The bar tender says: “hey we don’t serve horses here. Who brought this horse into the bar”

The bartender looks at the assembled patrons of the bar who shrug.

Donald Trump leaves the bar and the horse follows.

I am still at a loss of words over the fact that the US has a rapist pedophile as president and a good portion of the population is ok with that. A rapist pedophile that is doing the opposite of Robin Hood, stealing from the poor and giving it to his millionaires/billionaires “friends”.

I just don’t see how society can improve if humans are so fucking stupid and evil. This whole thing literally removed my faith in humanity. I was always a bit of a misanthrope but after this whole Trump and MAGA and Russia thing, my misanthropy is at an all time high.

Our instinct to gather behind leadership is essential to our survival and ability to organize in vast numbers. The things we do as individuals that are not rational or helpful from our individual point of view can still serve our species. Everyone has these same drives, but in ~30% of the population they are especially strong.

Not gonna lie. If that turns out to be true, I did not expect that at all.

Raping a child on video would have not have been as damaging to his reputation in the eyes of his voter base than that. Especially if Bubba is a black man.

“Bubba” was a pretty common nickname for Clinton while he was in office because of his accent.

Ain’t nothing illegal about getting your dick sucked by an adult black man named bubba. This, on the other hand - something about this case feels like it’s probably illegal.

The list of illegal things Trump did is long enough. What we need is things that will break the hold his cult has over the country.

Probably wasn’t Clinton, but just like Vance and couches, I’m running with it anyway!

It sounded like a joke anyway, implying there’s no limit to how low Trump might go. He could have said “the seven dwarfs” instead of Bubba, though that would imply stamina that Trump was probably never capable of.

Any chance “Bubba” could be Roy Cohn?

Very close with Trump, gay, had previously blackmailed J Edgar Hoover with compromising photos…it ticks a few boxes is all.

“Bubba” is a nickname almost always used for a southerner. Cohn was a lot of things, but never that.

If Clyde Tolson had still been alive, though…

Someone said that Roy Cohn wasn’t gay, he just liked to sexually dominate young blonde men. Okaaaay…

It should be noted that Cohn’s two most prominent proteges were Roger Stone and Trump, back when they were both young blonde men.

Roy Cohn repeatedly insisted he wasn’t gay. However he never denied exclusive attraction to men. His denials of homosexuality came with him asserting that homosexuals are weak victims of society, something he refused to be (which is to a certain degree understandable for a gay jew in the 50s). Hell him having a kink for dominating blonde men in that context is bad but like I get it. Evil evil son of a bitch, but he only ever paid for the wrong reasons.

Also Joseph McCarthy was brunette and absolutely dominated by Cohn.

Cohn associated being gay with bottoming, and in his way of seeing the world, being a top wasn’t gay. There’s an old thread in Western culture (much of it tracing back at least as far as the Romans) that took that view of men having sex with each other. I grew up in a Latino neigborhood, and that was the prevalent view there, too: it’s manly to pitch, but shameful and unmanly to catch.

I believe Thiel has similar views.

And yeah, leaving all that aside, Cohn was a twisted, evil skidmark.

So if it’s really not Clinton, and presumably it’s not some random guy named Bubba that the wealthy elite picked up on the side of the road and let join in their weird little games… Bubba is also a nickname a lot of people (myself included) call their brothers growing up.

I’m pretty sure it’s also not my Bubba, but Mark Epstein’s Bubba? That would actually fit with the well known anything goes party vibes. It would also make Epstein saying that Trump has zero good qualities a very sick burn that haunts from beyond the grave.
