We didn’t have a cat crate. We just took our cat in pairs when one would drive and one would hold the her (pretty sure that’s illegal here.

And she always screamed the whole drive.

I couldn’t see the cat in the picture at first and was like “There’s no way you’re fitting that dog in that carrier…” 😅️

I don’t always go to the vet, but when I do I chill in my travel box.

Leaving it out and about so they can get used to it works wonders when it’s finally vet time. Only when they’re young though. Our old cats know what’s up.

Yep, if the crate is only used for the vet, then the cat is gonna recognize that the crate means going to a place they don’t like. When I had my Willow I always left the crate around and open, made getting ready to the vet when I needed easy peasy.

tho the sweet boy was fine even at the vet, super friendly. I did not deserve him.

Are there any box shaped carriers?

Depending on how loosely you define “box shaped”, arguably almost ALL carriers would fit the bill 🤷🏻

Teasing aside, maybe this will do?

Yeah that’s basically it. Wonder of it tricks them.

Also a trick is to use a small dog sized carrier that they can stand up in
